3rd Grade Students Learn about the Lunar New Year

On Friday of last week, the in-person 3rd grade students were excited to learn about the Lunar New Year thanks to a national program offered by Panda Express. The generous grant allowed every student to participate in curriculum designed by the National Panda Express Community teaching them about the culture, food, celebrations and countries that celebrate the Lunar New Year. Even more, every single student got to enjoy their own box of Panda Express Orange Chicken and Lo Mien Noodles! We are very thankful for the partnership from our Maryville Panda Express. Thank you to the whole Panda team for this experience!

Announcement for Parents with Pre-School Aged Children

Maryville City Schools will offer pre-kindergarten classes at each elementary school next year. Each classroom will be an integrated pre-K (IPK) program where children from families who meet income requirements learn alongside children with disabilities and peer models. The IPK will be a program that offers preschoolers with and without disabilities challenging experiences through a curriculum emphasizing social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development. Pre-Kindergarten applications are being accepted NOW for children whose families meet income eligibility requirements.

Read Across JSE

Students should be finished with Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH before spring break begins. We have enjoyed having the unified story reading throughout the building and the fun decorations to bring the story to life. We hope you encourage your student to read over break and keep those literacy skills sharp!

Comprehension Question Winner

This week's Read Across JSE comprehension question winner was Hayden R. from Mrs. Harrison's class. Congratulations and enjoy your prize!
