Scottish Life Sciences Internship Programme 2017
Time: 12.00 - 13.00
Venue: Careers Centre Information Room
This Programme provides students with paid, relevant work experience in the life sciences sector. Placements last from eight to twelve weeks between June and September each year. Open to first, second, or third year students studying an undergraduate life sciences degree. Applications will open on 1 February on the ScotGrad website. This talk will provide you with hints and tips on how to make a successful application. This Presentation is limited to 20 attendees so sign-up NOW!

Amy graduated with a BSc Zoology from the University of St Andrews in 2014. She joined independent production company, Maramedia, and has worked as a researcher on the BBC productions Highlands - Scotland's Wild Heart; Shetland - Scotland's Viking Frontier and Hotel Armadillo. Entrust People - Careers in Life Sciences / Biosciences

Entrust People is a recruitment agency specialising in Life Sciences and scientific roles. A representative from Entrust People will speak to all years. Of specific interest to final years, Masters and PhDs near graduation. The talk will help individuals consider stepping away from academia and moving into the world of work. Topics include the types of roles available to students against selected Life Sciences courses; what students should expect from entry level posts; how to prepare against the competition; setting expectations for initial job roles and salary; locations in the UK with job opportunities; talk around mobility.
