Elyria High School
It's a Great Day to be a Pioneer
It's Almost Spring
Ready or not, the weather is beginning to change and we have already reached the midway point of the third grading period. Student progress reports (interims) will be updated in PowerSchool by the end of the school day on Friday (Feb. 26th). If you are experiencing any difficulty accessing your child's interim report through PowerSchool's parent portal, please don't hesitate to contact your child's team office.
Our Spring Parent-Teacher virtual conference night is on Wednesday, March 10th from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We will continue to utilize the PTCFast.com notification program implemented earlier this school year to schedule our virtual conference night. Our team offices will be sending the conference night notifications to parents next week. Please remember that parents can request to meet with teachers, counselors and administrators any time of year.
Additionally, we are currently developing a comprehensive intervention program to provide our students with additional academic support and counseling services. This will be a multi-tiered intervention program with opportunities for students attending in-person and/or virtually. Look for more specific details to be shared in the next couple of weeks.
Finally, our students, staff and families have done an amazing job adjusting to a four day instructional week this semester. Thank you again for your patience and understanding, as well as your continued support throughout the school year.
Pioneer Proud!

Graduation Seals (Class of 2023 & 2024)
Over the past two weeks, EHS Associate Principal, Julie Owca has been presenting the new permanent graduation requirements for students in the class of 2023 and beyond. These NEW REQUIREMENTS which have been enacted into State Law, introduce the requirement of students earning two graduation seals.
Our local graduation seals were officially adopted by the Elyria Board of Education at their October 21st meeting. Students will select one of the local seals to use with one of the Ohio defined seals to meet their two graduation seal requirement.
While meeting with classrooms to discuss and review the requirements, Ms. Owca prepared an informative graduation slide show which you can find HERE. We are also working with PowerSchool representatives to create a digital page where parents can examine their child's graduation plan including earned credits, state test scores and graduation seal progress.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Owca at (440)-284-5253.
