ORCHARD HILL HAWK TALK
Be Safe - Be Respectful - Be Responsible - Be a Hawk!
MARCH 31, 2021
We are excited to announce that we will be expanding in-person learning at the elementary school! This change comes following the new guidance from the CDC regarding spacing recommendations that have moved from a recommended 6 feet to now only 3 feet of distance between students. This change will allow us to welcome all students to our classrooms at one time. We are very eager to get closer to a “normal” school experience for our wonderful students.
Though we are still working through a lot of logistics at the building level, we wanted to give families a heads up so you can begin planning for your family. Below you will find an outline of our schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
7:45 am-2:15 pm
In-Person (all students)
Continue with Virtual
This change in schedule will begin on Tuesday, April 13th.
As we take this next step forward with you, we want to ensure you that we will continue to follow all of our strict safety protocols that have kept us healthy through this re-opening. Students will still remain in small, stable cohorts. We will continue to screen each student as they enter campus. Emphasizing good hygiene and practicing the three W’s - “Wash Your Hands, Watch Your Distance, Wear Your Mask” will continue to be a focus of our daily routine.
We will continue to transport students to and from school. All students who are currently riding to school on the bus will automatically be accounted for as we develop new routes. If you wish to either be added to a bus route, be taken off a route, or have a change to your current bus plan, please contact the school office by NO LATER THAN Thursday, April 1st. We know that is a tight turn around request from you. However, the bus barn has asked for time to be able to combine the morning and afternoon routes. Thank you for your prompt attention to the bus planning.
Please know that our bus routes are also following strict safety guidelines including masking, cleaning and physical distancing protocols.
We are incredibly grateful for the collaboration, flexibility, and patience you have shown throughout this year. We are requesting this same spirit as we take one more step closer to what used to be normal.
In Service and Appreciation,
Curt D. Shenk, Principal
