About Nathanial Hawthrone:

Was an American novelist and short story writer


Hawthorne published his first work, a novel titled Fanshawe , in 1828


The Scarlett Letter came out in 1850 followed by three other romantic novels.


When the Gothic's saw the individual, they saw the potential of evil.


His fiction works are considered part of the Romantic Movement and, more specifically, Dark romanticism.

The Gothic tradition was firmly established in Europe before American writers had made names for themselves.
