First DAC Public Meeting Set for Nov. 7
The first Desegregation Advisory Committee (DAC) Public Meeting is November 7, 2022, and you're invited! This meeting will be held in-person at the Lee High School Auditorium at 6:00pm as well as virtually via Facebook Live on the Huntsville City Schools Facebook page.
This meeting is designed to keep the community informed about the Desegregation Advisory Committee (DAC) and the implementation of the Consent Order, as well as provide an open forum for the community members to ask questions and provide feedback regarding their experiences with the implementation of the Consent Order to the DAC members.

Board Approves $750 Supplement for Full-Time Employees
This will be paid to employees before the end of the semester for prospective work that will occur next semester.
M2M Window Opens Nov. 15
Majority to Minority (M2M) applications will be open Nov. 15, 2022 to Jan. 15, 2023 for the 2023-24 school year. If you have a student going from Elementary to Middle School or from Middle to High School, you will need to reapply. Magnet Community Information Night on Nov. 15
Please join representatives from all Magnet Programs on November 15 at 6 p.m. at the Lee High School Theater as they discuss the various magnet programs that HCS offers!
Magnet leaders will provide an overview of each program and the application process will be discussed. Hear first hand experiences from current magnet students and families!

DAC Application Window for M2M Parents Closes Nov. 15
The DAC provides feedback to the Superintendent about Huntsville City Schools' implementation of the Consent Order by collecting community comments and other information pertaining to Consent Order implementation. The DAC also informs the Court of Huntsville City Schools' progress by completing a report for the Court. In addition, the DAC annually presents its findings to the Huntsville City Schools Board of Education.

Consent Order Public Meeting at Huntsville High on Nov. 29
Magnet Application Window Open Through December 9
The magnet application for the 2023-2024 school year opened on Oct. 31 at 10 a.m.
The following programs and grade levels are available:
- Academy for Academics and Arts (AAA), Grades PreK- 8
- The Academy for Gifted and Talented at Williams Middle School (AGT), Grades 6-8
- Academy for Science & Foreign Language (ASFL), Grades PreK-8
- The College Academy at Jemison High School, Grades 9-11
- Columbia High School, Grades 9-11
- Creative and Performing Arts at Lee High School, Grades 9-12
- New Century Technology High School, Grades 9-12
Please visit huntsvillecityschools.org/magnet to apply as well as to visit each program and review eligibility requirements.
Important: The application for the 2023-2024 school year closes at 4PM on December 9th.

Upcoming DAC Meetings
The Desegregation Advisory Committee (DAC) will host a series of public meetings across the district for each feeder pattern. These meetings will be held in-person as well as virtually via Facebook Live on the Huntsville City Schools Facebook page.
This meeting is designed to keep the community informed about the Desegregation Advisory Committee (DAC) and the implementation of the Consent Order, as well as provide an open forum for the community members to ask questions and provide feedback regarding their experiences with the implementation of the Consent Order to the DAC members.
