Weekly Updates for May 3 - 7
Message from the Principal
Good afternoon Jags!
Hard to believe we are in May and only 4 weeks of school left. This will be a busy week as we take our second round of EOC exams - Algebra I, Biology, and US History and our AP exams start. There are important AP exam logistics information below. Good luck and prepare every day as we get closer.
Our Semester Exam schedule and Exemptions information is below so be sure and read it and know the deadline for exemptions.
If you are in need of Saturday School to make up absences, please be sure and sign up in the Main Office for May 15 and/or 22. There are only two opportunities left for Saturday School.
Work hard and study to do your best. Be sure and stay on top of your grades as we move through the final five weeks of the 20-21 school year.
Sincerely,
Gary Comalander - Principal

Student Information
Semester Final Exam Schedule
All semester exams must be taken during the day and time scheduled to allow for live proctoring of the exam. Please look at the attached Exam Schedule. There are no Asynchronous semester exams. Asynchronous students who cannot take the exam during the scheduled time will need to make arrangements with the teacher to take it during one of the scheduled make-up times on 5/26-28, so it can be proctored. If a student misses their semester exam they will receive a grade of 1 and have until 6/10/21 to make the exam up in the Johnson HS administration office. Semester exams cannot be taken early.
Semester Exam Exemptions Information
Due to the COVID–19 pandemic, attendance requirements for exam exemptions will be waived for the 2020 – 2021 school year only. The previous baseline course semester average of 80% has changed to an 85% because attendance is not part of the semester exam exemption criteria for the 2020 – 2021 school year. All other criteria still applies.
Students will be able to submit their exam exemptions on the Student Access Portal starting Wednesday, 5/12 at 7 AM until Friday, 5/14 at 4:30 PM. All semester exam exemptions must be submitted by the student through their Student Access portal during this window. No extension to this deadline.

It deserves to be celebrated that we were even able to take the same groups we take every year. There were many schools across the state that were not able to participate as they historically have done. Our students worked diligently with an amazing attitude through circumstances and restrictions that added complexity to an already rigorous process. This is truly a WIN for Claudia Taylor Johnson High School and we could not be more proud!
Congrats to all of our Jag Orchestra students!
