PTO Needs your Help with Spring Fair!
The WES PTO needs your help at the Spring Fair! Each class is responsible for filling 8 time slots during the Fair to help run the games (2 parents per hour of the Fair). We ask all parents to PLEASE help for 1 hour. It is super easy and goes very quickly. The only way that we can make the games and activities at the Fair possible is through volunteers, so please consider helping out for an hour. Teen and Grandparent volunteers would also be greatly appreciated. Volunteers will receive several FREE raffle tickets for helping out!

WES Parent Input Form
COUNCIL ROCK SCHOOL DISTRICT
Important Notice Regarding 2022-2023 Student Placements
April 8, 2022
Dear Wrightstown Families,
As the end of the school year approaches, we at Wrightstown Elementary are beginning the formal process of creating class lists for the 2022-2023 school year. In Council Rock, the development of elementary classes and the assignment of teachers is a lengthy and complex process. We want to take this opportunity to help families understand the process and criteria utilized to create final class lists.
Our goal is to develop lists that consider the following factors: individual student academic needs, social characteristics, emotional factors, possible personality conflicts, and the number of students with specialized needs. For the 2022-2023 school year, the practice of the district permits parents to provide a submitted request to me describing the type of learning environment and instructional style they feel best fits the learning characteristics of their child. Please note that requests for teachers by name will not be accepted. While we believe your feedback is critical to our process, this input should be precisely focused on the specific needs of your child. If you are concerned with a specific teacher as a consequence of your personal experience, feel free to contact me directly. Absent this, we will employ our process and do everything reasonably possible to position your child for success. Parent input will be considered as one of many important factors. As such, the final decision on all placements rests with the school team and may be different from the input provided by the parent.
Parent input must be submitted through this WES PARENT INPUT FORM no later than Friday, April 29, 2022. Once received (on or before the due date), your input will be considered in conjunction with the current teacher’s input. An email will not be an accepted form of communication for this process. Changes made after class lists are established could negatively impact another student’s placement or alter the balance of classrooms. Subsequently, input will not be considered after the deadline.
We appreciate your partnership and trust in the class placement process. If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 215-944-2307.
Respectfully,
Beth A. Fox
Principal

Literacy Corner by Mrs. Etgen
Spring is in the air! I hope that you are enjoying this warmer weather and being outside. This is a perfect time of year to spark an interest in journaling through birdwatching, a tree hunt, or even family hikes. Children love to have purposeful writing activities, so if you want some ideas for outdoor writing activities, check out this link. AND on those rainy days of Spring, if you want to remember some oldies, but goodies, check out this link for some SchoolHouse Rock Language Arts videos! It is always fun to share information with your children through songs! My website also has links for book suggestions, curriculum information, and other reading resources. As always, please reach out to me if you need suggestions or have concerns about your child’s reading. Happy Spring, and Happy Reading!
Counselor's Corner
Dear WES Community,
School counselors focus on personal, social, academic, and career planning goals. It’s never too early for students to start learning about different careers! This month, students in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades all worked on different aspects of career development, such as having a growth mindset, perseverance, conflict resolution, and learning about their personalities/interests in relation to careers. I look forward to continuing to support all WES students as they explore career options.
All the best,
Mrs. Barbara Aiello
School Counselor

A NOTE FROM THE NURSE
Just a reminder to parents that any medications, whether over the counter or prescription, may not be carried by students in school. This includes pain relief and cough drops. Thank you!
We would like to clarify and clear up any confusion about dental and physical examination forms. All NEW students enrolling in school, regardless of grade level, must provide a Dental Exam Form and Physical Exam Form with proof of immunizations. All 3rd grade students must provide a Dental Exam Form. All 6th grade students must provide a Physical Exam Form. Immunization forms are not physical examinations. This is from The Pennsylvania Public School Code Section 1402. Health Services (e) requires that students upon original entry (any grade), 6th grade, and 11th grade be given a "comprehensive appraisal" of their health. This requirement may be completed by the student's primary care provider (MD, DO, CRNP, PA). Any physical exam dated after July 1st of the school year prior to your child's current grade may be accepted.
STUDENTS ENTERING 7TH GRADE
Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Acellular Pertussis (Tdap) - 1 dose given by the 1st day of 7th grade (usually given during 6th grade physical)
Meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV) - 1 dose given by the 1st day of 7th grade (usually given at 6th grade physical)
All health services information and printable forms are available on the CRSD website under the Departments Tab, Special Services. Scroll down to Health Services. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

A student receiving a free meal must choose at least 3 items for the lunch to be considered complete as per the Department of Child Nutrition regulations, one of which must be at least a half-cup serving of a fruit or vegetable.
