The Juliano Journal
Week of December 14-18
I would like to take a moment to thank all of you for your wonderful support and assistance this year. The success that the students are experiencing can best be attributed to parents and teachers working together. All of the things that you do such as checking assignment notebooks, reviewing study guides and helping with homework really add up to making your child’s year a successful one.
I am sure you heard that we took a trip on the Polar Express this week! After our trip, we returned to the room for hot cocoa and donuts. We completed many language arts and math activities that correlated to this book.
In math, we will continue to study unit two when we return in January. Please encourage your child to practice his/her multiplication facts over the break. I know it is difficult to think of schoolwork when they have so many exciting things to do.
It is important for your child to read over the winter break and record the minutes on his or her January WEB calendar that was brought home today. I will collect the December calendars when we return to school on January 4th . Please note that the minutes read over break can also be recorded on the Six Flags and/or Magic Waters reading log. This is due back to school by January 22nd if your child would like to earn an admission ticket to one or both of these fun places!
I hope that your winter holidays are joyous and that the New Year brings you and your family, health, and much happiness. I look forward to seeing everyone in 2016.
