Virtual Parent Presentation on March 22nd @ 6pm: “What You Can Do – Notice The Signs. Have the Conversation. Give the Response” The sooner a mental health or substance concern is identified and addressed, the better the outcome for your child or teen. Join us for an informative presentation on identifying substance use warning signs and recent trends during the pandemic. Learn helpful tips on how to start conversations with your child about drug use and discover strategies to work through resistance when help is needed. Covid Testing- In our continuous effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our classrooms and workspaces, the District will again host a COVID-19 testing clinic for students and staff. The next COVID-19 testing clinic is scheduled for Monday, March 22, 2021 at University High School. Please click HERE for the flyer to register.
IPSF Classes Now Open- The Irvine Public Schools Foundation is offering after school and summer classes. Click HERE for more information and to register.
Independent Lessons- Our independent lessons are set aside so that teachers can help support small groups of students with their learning. It is the expectation that students remain in class during the independent lesson when asked by the teacher. Our teachers are noticing that students are leaving the zoom even though they are told to stay. In these instances, our teachers will be marking students as absent to alert our staff and parents that a student left class without permission. Please help us and remind your student to stay in the independent lesson when asked by the teacher as we are working hard to support student learning.
Parent Workshop- Waymakers and The Parent Project are hosting a 10 week parent workshop. For more information and register click HERE
Monday Mandatorial Attendance- Our teachers at IVA use the Monday Mandatorial to support students in their learning. Students can be referred to Mandatorial by their teacher, counselor, or administrator. Parents will be notified by email if a referral has been made. We appreciate your support and help in ensuring that your student attends if requested by an IVA Staff Member. You will see Mandatorial as a class on your students schedule in Aeries, and attendance will be taken during this time. Please click HERE for the schedule.

Paper Tutoring Parent Webinar-In our partnership with the online tutoring service, Paper, we would like to make you aware of English and Spanish Parent Webinars they are offering. These webinars are designed to inform parents about how students can use this resource when working on their studies at home, and help answer questions from the parent community. Dungeons and Dragons is a roleplaying game that has recently gotten very popular. If you are interested in getting started, what you needed, or how to find a group this is for you.
Topic 6: Share your Travel Experiences/Vacation Bucket Lists
Share your travel and activity bucket list and information about your favorite travels and activities.
OCC Application Workshops- OCC Outreach and Onboarding Team will be hosting application workshops for new students, including high school seniors. If you are interested in attending the event please sign-up.

Irvine High School Registration Timeline On Monday, 3/15/21 in TA we kicked off the course selection process for the 2021-22 school year. Teacher Advisors shared the timeline for course selection HERE and also shared the electives flyer HERE. Irvine High School is proud to showcase our robust elective offerings in this site. Please take time to explore the many courses that we offer. There are videos, pictures and audition information included. Guided prompts can be found HERE to help in planning. Actual course selection will begin immediately following spring break on April 5th. Students should enroll at the home site regardless of their plans for the Fall.
High School Planning Conference Timeline Your Sophomore students should have completed the following during TA during the month of February:
February 1st - High School Planning Conference Video including information about graduation and a-g requirements, resources at Irvine High, career exploration and college planning. Video HERE
February 8th - Course Planning and Completion of HS Planning Worksheet. Students access the Planning Worksheet using their IUSD Log In, make a copy, and share with their Counselor and Parent/Guardian. If they did not complete this step, please view Instructions HERE and the Worksheet HERE
