Reminders: Arrival & Dismissal
SES Bus Driver Request:
Bus drivers have expressed difficulty arriving at our school on time. Bus drivers request parents pull more toward the curb (cars driving in from Homestead Rd.) on Seawell School Rd. if possible.
1) Thank you for your continued patience in the car rider line. We have reduced our car rider line in the afternoon by about 10-15 minutes. Please pay attention to a few safety reminders:
- Parents and guardians should not get out of the car in the morning or afternoon car rider line.
- Please refrain from cell phone usage while the line is active.
- Please have seatbelts and child chairs prepared ahead of time.
- Items/food should not be dropped off during the car rider line. Please park and drop this off during the day or after the AM car rider line.
- Please do not use the car rider line as a time to speak with teachers. Please email or call to schedule a virtual or phone call appointment as visitors are not permitted on campus due to COVID-19 regulation.
2) Thank you for your continued patience with bus routes and stop times. Transportation is experiencing a bus shortage and our district is working tirelessly to hire bus drivers. We will be sure to conduct all calls to families when we receive word of an impending late bus.

1) Visitors are not allowed on campus at this time. Please use the kiss and go lane when dropping students off. Adults will not be permitted to walk students to class at this time.
2) The carpool lane continues to improve day by day! Thank you so much for your patience and kindness. Please continue to be patient and drive carefully through the carpool lanes at each school in our community. As you exit the carpool lane, please take a right turn. This will help with traffic flow. We will revisit this process, as well, once the traffic has settled over the coming weeks. We are working with the district to improve carpool lines within our school community.
3) Please ensure you have a purple carpool tag visible in your window during dismissal.
4) Please do not park cars to walk to the building to get students at dismissal. We ask that all parents remain in the car rider line.
5) Bikers and walkers will be dismissed at 2:40 on the lawn by the PreK trailers. We apologize for the tight protocols but we want to ensure the safety of each student and staff member while on campus. All bikers and walkers must be released to an adult because they are minors. Masks must be worn at all times.
6) Smith Middle School: please do not park cars on Smith Middle School's campus during dismissal. Smith Middle asks parents to line up beginning at 3:10 PM. Please do not take a left out of Seawell's car rider exit to wait in the Smith Middle School line early. We ask all parents and guardians to make a right when exiting. Thank you so very much!
7.) Please direct new bus requests to Mr. Nelson. Requests are sent to the district transportation office for additional processing. New requests can take up to several days to complete.
8.) Please call the district transportation office if a bus fails to pick up your student in the morning.

Consider skipping the car line (or school bus) on Wednesday morning and walk your child to school. Talk to your neighbors and spread the word!
Critter Corner Work Day - Special Request
Do you have a background in building or construction? Or maybe you're just handy when it comes to DIY home projects? The Critter Corner team is looking for someone with the skill set to help with replacing the barn floor. It'd be great to have a parent/guardian with expertise in this area, so we don't have to spend Critter Corner funds to outsource this to a business. If you can help with this request, please email seawellcrittercorner@gmail.com. General volunteers are needed for other tasks as well, so all families are welcome to attend the work day on October 10.
A Request from the Teacher Appreciation Committee
As they make plans for events and special treats for Seawell staff, the Teacher Appreciation Committee is seeking contacts/connections to any of the following: local manufacturers or wholesalers for teacher gift bag items, such as coffee/tea, lotions or body care items, giftwrap, candles (all ideas welcome!). We are also seeking connections to local restaurants for future teacher workday events. If you have a connection or can help, email Teacher Appreciation Chairperson Melissa McCabe at melissa.mccabe@gmail.com.
