Kissel Hill Family Newsletter
Kissel Hill Elementary School - September 25, 2021
Greetings Parents and Guardians
I hope this communication finds you well - it is hard to believe we are headed towards October in just a matter of days! On the other hand, it also feels like we have been in session for a few months! We are so blessed to work with your children each day and are grateful for your support and partnership. We recognize that there have been various challenges throughout the first month, but with difficulty lies opportunity. It has been such an encouragement to see so many in various roles stepping up to assist and encourage one another.
I am thankful that I have been able to connect with and talk with many of you. I appreciate our phone calls and email dialogue, no matter the topic! I do make it a goal to respond to family emails and phone calls within a 24 hour period, but do want to share that due to some of the recent day to day happenings and a high volume of emails and calls, I have not always been able to respond within that 24-hour window. Please know your communication is important to me and I will be in touch. Don't hesitate to reach out!
Best,
Zac Bauermaster, Principal Kissel Hill Elementary
Health and Safety Update
As we transition back from Red, we will move into our Yellow Instructional Phasing on Monday, September 27th. We look forward to having the kids back in the building! The plan is to remain in the Yellow Phase for two weeks. In the yellow phase, students are attending school physically for the entirety of the school day following the master schedule with modifications. For your reference, that plan can be found HERE. Some of the bigger changes during the Yellow Phase include:
-The Cafeteria will transition to the gymnasium to allow for additional space
-Grade levels will remain in homeroom group recess zones and the playground equipment is not available
-Special classes will occur within homeroom classrooms or outdoors
-Books are quarantined between student use and will not be sent home
Lastly, the District's most recent communication can be found HERE.
