Weekly Update for 9-29-19

Joan MacQueen Middle School

Principal Message

Dear JMMS Families,

Good afternoon it was a fantastic week at Joan MacQueen, would like to start by thanking all the firefighters that responded so quickly to both fires this week. It was a not so subtle reminder of the danger that surrounds us all the time. Also please remember that the school acts as a fire shelter and in the case of emergency the fire department will surround and shelter the school.

Second, thank you to the Alpine Educational Foundation for supporting teaching and learning in the Alpine Union School District. We appreciate everything that you do and students are really enjoying the additional science labs. I would also like to thank the Alpine VFW for hosting the awards dinner this past Wednesday.

Friday, we opened up the blacktop for lunch and it looked like a big hit (literally). We are looking for some donations of basketballs, soccer balls or footballs for students to check out during lunch. I would also like to invite you to campus on Fridays to eat lunch and listen to music with your child.

6th Grade Lunch 11:17 a.m. - 12:03 p.m.

7th/8th Grade Lunch 12:07 a.m. - 12:53 p.m.

Kudos also go out to the Dust Devil Band and Trash Can Band for their outstanding performance at the Steele Canyon football game. Way to represent!

The online store for school gear is closing soon so please reach out and purchase your spirit wear ASAP. Use this link to get to the store.
