A Note from the Nurse.........
We are seeing some strep, stomach viruses, coughing, and students that are just not feeling well. When you want your child to have medicine at school, please follow the CISD policy for transporting medicine located in the student handbook and in the weekly Gazette. For the safety of all children, medication (yes, even cough drops) may NOT be transported by students. Medications are to be brought to school by an adult. There is a form you will fill out giving permission for the medicine to be administered to your child.
If your child is ill, please let them recover at home. If your student has a temperature of 100 or above, they cannot come or return to school until they are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medicine. If your child at school has a temperature of 100 or above, vomiting, having diarrhea or unable to function well at school, they will be sent home.
Also, please remind your child to wash their hands frequently. Let's keep everyone healthy and happy.

Galatas Fall Fundraiser!
Thanks to everyone that donated to the Fall Fundraiser and came out to the Pumpkin Patch Dash! The students had a great time celebrating a successful fundraiser. With 73% of the school participating, we have raised $62,331! Way to go Mrs. Bonney’s class and Mrs. Hill’s class for getting 100% participation, and to the top 5 fundraising classes listed below:
1. Ms. Lindsay - $4,726
2. Mrs. Bonney- $4,284.26
3. Mrs. Martin - $3,204
4. Mrs. Janke - $3,020
5. Ms. Jordan - $2,930
The donation site will be open for one more week for anyone that would still like to participate.
On Tuesday, November 12, we will celebrate surpassing our fundraising goals with an afternoon assembly. Students that raised at least $100 will be entered into a drawing to "pie "Mrs. Mathis and Mrs. Wilker in the face and to turn Tiny, our fundraising representative, into a human sundae.
Finally, thank you to everyone for sending in their spare change. We collected over $1,900! Many classes filled their change jars and will get to enjoy 30 minutes of extra recess.

Generation TEXAS Week
November 18th-November 22th
Generation Texas Week teaches students about being successful in school, learning about the schools in their future, and continuing education like college and technical schools. Throughout this week, we will discuss the importance of education. We emphasize the opportunities that a good education allows, including colleges and careers. This week is devoted to teaching about the next steps after graduation and our students’ futures. Dressing up is optional, but please adhere to the school dress code if you choose to allow your child to participate. Below are the highlights that we will focus on throughout the week, and please help us celebrate our future with the following themes:
Monday, November 18: CAREER DAY (dress for the career that you would like to pursue) Teachers will help students explore job opportunities. “When I grow up, I want to be…”
Tuesday, November 19: BACK TO YOUR FUTURE DAY (wear your favorite college shirt) Teachers will share information about colleges and answer questions about the college experience.
Wednesday, November 20: THE ROAD TO COLLEGE (wear a Mitchell Intermediate, McCullough Jr. High, or The Woodlands High School shirt) Teachers will talk about schools that students attend after Galatas.
Thursday, November 21: OPTIONS OTHER THAN A FOUR YEAR COLLEGE (dress in red, white, and blue to symbolize our freedom to choose careers and higher education) Teachers will explore opportunities for students other than 4 year colleges.
Friday, November 22: CELEBRATE EDUCATION (wear your Galatas shirt to celebrate our school) Teachers will discuss how rewarding it is to do your best every day in school.
