Happy Spring Break!

It's so exciting to see the energy ramping up in our school with the onset of Spring. I saw my first robin today as I was greeting at our front door!

After Spring Break, many new opportunities will be on our horizon. Look for information on...

  • a coding club we will be creating for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders
  • school talent show
  • field trips
  • more opportunities for classroom volunteers
  • outdoor classroom learning experiences
  • all school read
  • celebration of learning including open house, science fair, and music performances

The best of 2022 is yet to come. Have a fantastic break!

In Partnership,

Michelle Miner, Ed.D

Principal, Lincoln Elementary

Supporting Ukraine

There are unimaginable events happening in Eastern Europe, in Ukraine, and maybe you have been wondering how you can help. Please take a moment to read about just a few of the personal connections WSD employees have with the situation, and then check out the reputable organizations accepting monetary donations to help support Ukraine. At this time we could not find a local establishment collecting non-monetary donations. If you have a connection that you would like to share, please reach out to Lexie Liber (liberal@wauwatosa.k12.wi.us) or Tracy Carus (carustr@wauwatosa.k12.wi.us). Tell us your story! We can add it to the slides. This is not an “over there” travesty; it hits close to home.

Screenagers + Screenagers Next Chapter Viewing

The Longfellow PTA is hosting a free online viewing of Screenagers & Screenagers Next Chapter! Both of these films discuss brain development as it relates to the inundation of screens and social media. There are limited seats available, so sign up to attend as soon as possible. Once you sign up, you will be able to watch both films anytime between March 14 and April 11. More info on both films can be found here.

Wake Up Call Special Presentation

Parents, guardians and staff are invited to attend an eye-opening presentation taking place on Wednesday, April 6 from 6:30-8:00 PM at Wauwatosa West High School. Get practical information on current drug trends, take a walk-through of a teen’s bedroom with more than 50 red flags that could indicate substance use, and learn proactive parenting strategies to keep your child substance free. For more information or to register for this FREE event, please visit: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/272236686257. Registration is not required, but preferred for planning purposes. For questions about this event, please contact Ashleigh at ashleigh@yourchoiceprevention.org.
