January Family Newsletter
2023
Dear Marthasville Students and Families,
Happy 2023!! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and New Year's! I was able to spend some quality time with my family and took every moment I could to enjoy being with my daughter before sending her back to ship life in the Navy. I am feeling rejuventated and excited to start 3rd quarter strong. My personal word for the new year is GROW. My intentions and focus have been set and I am ready to conquer this year with a fresh mind and passion for our students and school. I have missed our Blue Jays so much and can't wait to see them again so soon! Be on the lookout for a Save the Date to be coming home this month regarding PTG's Trivia Night in April. We have so many fun events planned for the rest of this school year and I appreciate the ongoing support from our families. The committment to our students succeeding and growing is evident and I am always proud to be your child's Principal. Don't forget, if you ever have questions, concerns, or need anything, don't hesitate to reach out. You can call me at 636-231-2650, email kristen.daffron@sdowmo.org or message me on our Facebook page. Thank you for being AWESOME FAMILIES!!
Cheers to an amazing start to 2nd Semester!
Most Caring,
Mrs. Kristen Daffron

2nd Quarter Report Cards 2nd Quarter Report Cards and envelopes will be coming home on 1/9. Please look over your child's grades thoroughly. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's teacher right away. We ask that every family sign and return the envelope by 1/17. We are looking for 100% of our envelopes to be returned, as we will need these for future quarters. Each family can keep their copy of the report card. If we do not get your envelope by 1/17, you child's teacher will be reaching out to you. We appreciate your support and cooperation! Thank you for being an active part of your child's educational team. | Visitors and Volunteers We are once again using the Raptor system for anyone entering our building to volunteer or visit. Anyone picking up or dropping off students only, do no need to be approved through Raptor, as they won't be entering the building past the safety vestibule doors. We also ask that visitors and volunteers only enter the building through the Main Entrance doors (top of the front parking lot). | Inclement Weather and AMI DaysDue to our current 2022-23 calendar, we will be utilizing E-Learning and E-Learning PLUS for inclement weather days past Days 1-6 that are currently accounted for in our District calendar. If we are out of school for more than six days, teachers will need to connect with students to keep them instructionally on track for learning progression and grade-level advancement. All E-Learning and E-Learning PLUS days should be thought of in terms of educational advancement and not “busy” work for students; however, the connection with students will look different based on the information below: *E-Learning (Days 7-10): All teachers will provide work to students via Google Classroom. All teachers will also provide a two-hour “office time” Zoom link for students to connect with them from 9-11 a.m. if they have questions or need assistance. This is not a specific instruction time. The remainder of the day will be spent on collaboration and future instructional planning.
*E-Learning PLUS (Days 11 and Beyond): All teachers will run a full virtual schedule with their students. Every teacher will connect with students and continue instruction during the student's regularly scheduled day. If students are to have a special class on this day, they will attend virtually with the teacher. Lunch, recess, and passing times will remain as virtual breaks for the day. |
