Who Am I?

My name is Yeshu Aggarwal and I am in grade 10. I am a person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are many things in life that I want to experience and see. Some characteristics that represent me are hardworking, intelligent, multitasking and honest. I have participated in many leadership and cultural activities at school and outside the school. Other extra-curricular activities I love to do is horse riding in summer, play guitar and go for outdoor ice skating in winter. I like to read books, go to quiet and calm places like the beaches and also listen to music. My interests are mostly in science as I love doing experiments but I also like to paint and dance. I have also achieved first place medal in STEM Olympic in the chemistry category which took place in my school. I really want to go for skydiving and do the edge walk on the CN tower in Toronto. I have taken part in many other sports like track and field, frisbee and many more but my favorite sport is swimming because from my childhood, I have practiced and won many awards in the competitions. My short term goal is to graduate this high school with good marks and get accepted in the University of Toronto and for long term I want to go in medical field. I also do volunteer work inside the school by joining the eco club which helps raise awareness about the environment and the extinct animals. I also do volunteer work outside the school with the CYC youth organization in the summer vacations.

My Life Line

1 years old

In this picture, it shows me giving all of my toys to my friend who was my neighbour when we lived in Bangalore, India. This picture represents me that from my childhood I did not had any problem sharing and instead of crying like most kids did, I would watch them play with my toys and then laugh.

My favourite things

Leadership Style

Persuader Leadership style

In this leadership style, the leader will include the team members in decision-making, makes the final decision and encourages cooperation from the team to execute the plan. I prefer the persuader leadership style because this style includes a lot of teamwork which is my best quality and at the same time does not give all the power to the team as it may lead to loss of team focus or leader himself/herself can lose effectiveness as the captain. Persuader leader is generous, confident, enthusiastic, inspirational and motivating. The leader of the group will value ideas and opinions of each member of the group. Also, the leader of the group is inspirational and motivational which helps the group to be successful in future. Another reason is that the everyone in the group feel respected, valued and do not lose focus from their goal. An example where I exercised this kind of leadership is when me and my friends in grade 6 had to take part in the school science fair competition and I was selected as the leader of the group. Everyone had great ideas about what we can do in the science and I values, respected all of the but we did the vote to see which idea should we do. I motivated, inspired them to work hard, not waste time and I worked hard with too. I was very confident about our idea that we had to win the science fair and we did.

My Internal Influences

Big image

My Friends

Influence from friends can be big change on one's mind. One's friends can define one's world for one, give one their beliefs, let one see things from their own eyes and convince one that this is the unavoidable reality. There two types of influences that you can have from your friends which are bad influences or good influences. But for me, I have a lot of good influences from my friends as all of them are well-rounded people, they are confident, share their knowledge, nice, caring and sociable. My friends are always there for me when I need them the most. My friends encourage me when I am sad, they entertain me whenever I am bored or alone and they listens to my problems. I have a lot of trust in them as they are trustworthy and have their trusts in me too. My friends always encourages me and help me with my work by giving great ideas. Before, I used to feel little down own myself but then my friends gave me confidence and motivated me. I also performed and rehearsed a dance with my friends and performed in the talent show. Every time I am stuck on a problem, they will try to solve it for me. From all the qualities my friends posses, they have inspired and motivated me to be successful in future and now as I can focus on my work without feeling down on myself, alone, depressed with problems and many more. Because of my good friends influence, I am friendly with every one, I am happy, I do not feel depressed or stressed and I am not a loner. Good friends are rare in the world. Friendship is better than fame in life.

My External Influences

Big image

Katniss Everdeen

Katniss Everdeen from the movie Hunger Games, role played by the celebrity Jenifer Lawrence is my external influence. The character Katniss Everdeen has a lots of character traits like friendly, quiet, shy, caring but the traits that most stood out to me was that she is brave, smart, resourceful, caring and risk taker. She is brave because she volunteered for her sister Prim to go into the hunger games even though she know she might not come back. In the Hunger Games, she never gave up even though she knew that odds were against her favour and she also knew that in games a lot of people would just sit back and die because they know they have no chance of surviving. Knowing all this, Katniss still tried her best to win, not only for herself but for everyone. Katniss is smart and resourceful because she remembers the things her dad taught her about the forest and use the skills to help her win in the games like she knows what to eat what not to eat and knows everything about the forest like what is safe and what is not. she is resourceful because she use things in the forest to help her for example the bees nest she cut the bees nest off the tree and it went down to kill her enemies. she also use the trees for protection. Katniss is very caring because she cares a lot about her family and rue. All of her characteristics influenced me as it taught me that if the person believes in herself, she can achieve anything. She also taught me how to be brave and do not care what anyone thinks about yourself. By watching this movie, I also learned how much love she has for her sister and how much she cares.

Role Model

My Mother

The person who has been the role model in my life is my mother. She has been my teacher, counselor, role model, and friend for most of my life. For me, she is a source of motivation and a reminder of what true love really means. Her good character and honesty and generosity make her the type of person everyone can count on her. The most important roles my mom plays is being a teacher and a counselor. My mother is the person I can go for any help that I need with to solve my girl problem as she understands them and also go for a good lesson in life. She is only close person that I feel comfortable telling all of my secrets of joys and pain in life. If I am ever scared, nervous or feel down on myself, my mom will always motivate and inspire me by telling me that I am the best for everything that I do, she is proud of me and I am her prettiest girl in the world. My mom always encourages me to step up and perform on stage so I can be successful. From my childhood, if anyone bothered me my mom would fight for me and always be there whenever I need her. She has taught me to be always honest to everyone and to myself, care for others, respect others and study hard to become a successful person. And also, whenever I failed or lost something, she say to me that she is proud of me for participating and tell me to learn from my mistakes and do better next time. I will always respect the influence that she had on my life and will take all that she has taught me as a motivation to be all that I can be while reaching my goals.

Secondly, Take the medical college test (MCAT), complete medical school for four years, earn a license and complete a Residency. But students like me who are still in high school and want to go into medical field, they should considered taking Grade 12 English, Algebra and Geometry, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science and Physics as these are the courses the best Universities look for. Best Universities for medical line that are closer to where I live is the University of Toronto, Mc Gill University or Western University. After universities we look at medical schools and every medical school need a strong focus on these following area like Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Anatomy, Biology, Physics and Calculus and also continue to maintain one's GPA. When getting into med-schools, applicants must take MCAT which is a multiple choice test that assesses the knowledge and skills necessary to be a successful medical student. Then, complete medical school with these necessary courses such as Anatomy, Biochemistry, Ethics, Pharmacology, Physiology and Psychology. Then, earn a license by passing the standardized national exam and complete a paid residency at a hospital for specialization varying the time frame for every specialization.

My whole family is very honest and that is one of the reasons why we are successful. Honesty is the foundation upon which a person builds any relationship with his loved ones such as family or friends. Honesty helps a person to conquer problems and excel in life. It is essential for a person to be honest with himself or herself. Dishonesty harms you and harms others as well.
