Summer Lunch Bunch!
Summer Lunch Bunch is a free lunch and is available to any child 1-18 years of age. Children do not have to be students within our district to come for lunch.
Dates: June 1 – July 29, 2016 (closed July 4, 2016)
Time: 11:30AM – 12:30PM
Locations include: Apache, Bluejacket-Flint, Broken Arrow, Comanche, Merriam Park, Nieman, Overland Park, Rising Star, Roesland, Rosehill, Shawanoe.

The men signed waivers at the dance in order for photos to be uploaded to this website.
Girls on the Run finished their season strong! Next stop: Kansas City 5K at Arrowhead this weekend! Good job, beautiful ladies!

Attention 6th grade parents:
Students need to have a Tdap immunization before entering 7thgrade. If you have a question about whether or not your child has it on file with the school check skyward.
Rising Star School Nurse
Immunizations and physicals are available in six of our elementary schools!
Note the following:
- This opportunity is available for any SMSD student.
- There are two difference documents (distribute both):
- Health Partnership Clinic of Johnson County
- Johnson County Department of Health and Environment
- Both sites will provide immunizations and physicals for students from undocumented families

Start Thinking About PTA Reflections Contest
The theme for the Reflections Contest for the 2016-17 school year is:
What is Your Story?
REFLECT on the theme. CREATE art. BE RECOGNIZED!
Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 students are encouraged to submit original works of art in one or more of the following categories:
- Dance Choreography
- Film Production
- Musical Composition
- Visual Arts
Students with disabilities may receive special accommodations by entering the special artist division.
*Submission process and deadline, to be announced in the Fall - but the Summer is the perfect time to start working on your entries!
STUCO has produced a newscast to highlight some greatness at The Star! This is the first and only of this school year, but we plan to create more of them next year as we get the hang of things :)
