BSD School Closure Updates
Monday, March 16, 2020
FREE "Grab-n-Go" breakfast and lunch provided Monday - Friday every week while schools are closed
Beginning Tuesday, March 17, Bremerton School District will provide FREE breakfast and lunch to all children age 18 and under*:
- All schools except Open Doors Career & Academic Program will distribute meals Monday - Friday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon (Open Doors students may pick up meals at any other locations).
- Lunches will be delivered to every stop on the District's elementary school bus routes Monday - Friday. (**See bus routes and estimated stop times here).
Meals will be offered on previously-scheduled non-student days (3/20, 3/26 and 3/27) and during spring break (3/30 - 4/3).
Guidelines:
- Any child, age 18 or younger, can receive a meal at any school (even kids from outside the District or children not yet enrolled in school). *If enrolled in a BSD program, students up to age 21 will be provided meals.
- Due to federal regulations, the child must be present to receive a meal.
- Both breakfast and lunches will be provided (bagged meals, no hot food service).
**Please note: The bus delivery schedule includes estimated stop times. Buses could be running late. We do not yet know how long it will take at each stop to hand out the meals so we may be adjusting delivery schedules if more time is needed per stop. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
