Hoot Hoot Herald

May 2-6, 2016

It's MAY! Wow - this year has flown by.

  • Please review the draft master schedule that Alicia has sent out. We are close to getting that nailed down.
  • I will be contacting team leads to confirm the dates for class making and to discuss grade level roles for next year.
  • PDAS summatives will be the week of the 16th-20th. This is the last time we will do PDAS!
  • Training for the new evaluation system will occur on May 16th.
  • May 27th is a work day! I know that's aweful right?? Let's take care of the things that we need to do (required ESL work, required RTI training), finish up class making, plan for the CIP development, and plan our beginning of the year PD. I hope we can complete our work in a couple of hours and the rest of the time is yours.
  • 2nd grade benchmarks are Monday 2nd and Friday 6th.
  • Are your students driving you crazy??? We are happy to help. This time of year is difficult for some students. The office can be a cool down/calm down place for students who are having a hard time. We are here to support you.

TRPI Deadline has been pushed back

A Note from Leah Thomas:

The deadline has been bumped back. TPRI scores need to be entered into ATVS by Friday 5/13. This gives us an extra week to get testing done!

Remember that DRA is not required by the district for EOY (although we have opted to do it as a campus ). If you would like to put this information into ATVS, the window will be the same as TPRI. Let me know if you need help testing!

Teacher Appreciation Week information!

The luncheon will be Friday, May 6, from 11-1. There will not be teacher treats on this first Friday due to the prep for the lunch.

What is new this year is the PTA is having kids in each class (on Wednesday, May 4) make a card for a particular teacher in special areas (special ed / reading specialist / speech, etc).

Each class is having one additional teacher assigned by their lead parent and we are instructing parents to send those cards into their classroom teachers. Please expect these additional cards and take them up to the lounge and place in the appropriate staff member's mailbox.

After School Pick Up Procedures

Friendly reminder that Mrs. Reed will be at the Blue Chairs from 3:10 until 3:30 PM to collect students that still need to be picked up from school. After 3:30, students will be taken to the office. Please take all students who are not picked up to the Blue Chairs instead of the office. THANKS!

Computer Lab News

We will have some online testing in the computer lab for 3 weeks starting May 9th. Please pay special attention to the schedule to see when the lab will be closed for testing.

This week we are using a new cart with Chromebooks to move the online STAAR practice to different rooms on campus so we can keep the lab open for regular classes!
