Perry High School
Newsletter #18 (1/15/19)
Message from the Principal
Happy New Year to everyone!
Although we didn't seem to get a "White Christmas" this year, the snow has started to appear in the past few days with more on the horizon for certain before the winter concludes.
With this in mind, please take a moment to remind your student about the importance of being careful while driving in these conditions. The roads tend to get icy very quickly and extra caution is needed at times like these. For those riding our school transportation, it is equally important to maintain appropriate conduct on the bus at this time of the year (and throughout the year) so as not to detract the driver from watching the roadways. Everyone's cooperation is greatly appreciated to ensure we all get to and from school safely.
We have some wonderful acknowledgements in this newsletter as well as some upcoming calendar of events that are occurring. We hope you will enjoy this week's newsletter.
As always, thank you for your support.
Go Panthers!!!
Student Recognized by Repository
Students must complete an application process reflecting their achievements and GPA while submitting the information with at least two letters of recommendation from the staff. Kevin is one of our top Seniors who is involved in a rigorous academic course load, and is involved in Track, Cross Country, and the Speech/Debate program.
There will be an article in the Repository paper in the coming weeks highlighting this wonderful accolade.

Congratulations team!
Finally, congratulations to Perry's Policy Debaters, Makena Talbot and Katie Daugintis, and Lincoln Douglas Debater Nick Forchione, who pre-district qualified to the state tournament at the Sylvania Varsity Speech and Debate Tournament last weekend. Makena, Katie, and Nick's qualifications bring the total number of pre-district state qualifiers from Perry to 20. They will represent Perry Speech and Debate at the state tournament in March. Go Perry!
