SLCS District Update
April 29, 2021
Note from the Superintendent
Hello SLCS Families,
Needless to say it has been a challenging year. There have been conversations, discussions, debates, etc. about what is best for our students during these unique circumstances. One thing that hasn’t been debated is the amazing work of the SLCS teachers and staff.
Next week is Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week. Please join us in thanking our amazing employees who drive our students to and from school, feed our students breakfast and lunch, teach our students, tend to them when they have a need, offer encouragement and support, maintain a clean and safe learning environment, and all the other countless actions that make a positive impact on our students. Keep up the great work and finish strong!
SLCS staff members make a difference! Thank you all for all that you do each and every day.
Specials Report Cards for 3rd Trimester
In-person and virtual learning pathway students will be formally assessed in art, music and physical education on the third trimester report card. Art, music and physical education teachers will be marking students on skills that were covered during the third trimester. Additionally, each student will receive marks for their Habits of Mind progress. For our virtual learning pathway families, please note that only work from the third trimester will be included in the assessment on the report card.

This week’s staff member is Mr. Jeff Prueter. He is an AP Language and Composition, English 9, and Drama Teacher at SLHS. He is also the Varsity Boys and Girls Tennis Coach.
Mr. Prueter builds amazing relationships with his students because of his genuine care for all of them. He constantly re-evaluates his methodology and evolves every year into an even more dynamic teacher. His students always light up when they hear about him and speak of him in glowing terms. He is always learning and growing, positively influencing his colleagues as well.
