Class Registration
STEP 1. Please read the Registration Roundup newsletter dated February 13th and February 27th that was sent to students' and parents' email.
STEP 2: View the Advanced Placement Course Offerings. Please note that information about AP Courses, Work Based Learning, and Yearbook is included on the list of presentations. Click here to visit website.
STEP 3: Review list of pathways and electives for 2023-24. Students should select at least 3 electives and 3 alternates and enter the selections into Academic Plan. Click here to view a list of pathways and electives.
STEP 4: Students will have an individual advisement session with his/ her counselor to register for classes.
Registration Advisement Schedule
Registration and advisement sessions for each grade are as follows.
- 11th grade: Beginning Feb 27th in Math classes
- 10th grade: Beginning March 13th in English classes
- 9th grade: Beginning March 23rd in Personal Fitness/Health classes

Dual Enrollment Information
Piedmont Fayette 2023 Summer Student Volunteer Program
The Piedmont Fayette Hospital Auxiliary is pleased to announce that it will again be sponsoring the summer Student Volunteer Program, beginning June 5 and ending July 28, 2023. Interested Fayette County students who are rising 9th grade through 12th grade will be given an opportunity to serve others in specific areas of Piedmont Fayette Hospital. This volunteer opportunity in a hospital setting gives exposure to young people who may become interested in pursuing a career in a medically related profession and hone soft skills.
Due to the limited number of youth volunteer positions available, applicants will be considered on a first come first serve basis and will be required to attend an interview and orientation session.
Criteria:
- Students in Fayette County Schools and/or children/grandchildren of Piedmont Fayette Hospital employees and volunteers.
- Students who are rising 9th through 12th grade
- Students who can commit to volunteering at least 25-30 hours over the 8 week program.
The application packet can be picked up in SMHS Counseling Department. Deadline for completed applications is March 10 at 4 p.m. Completed applications should be HAND-DROPPED at the Piedmont Fayette Auxiliary Office, 1279 Highway 54 West, Fayetteville, GA 30214, 3rd floor.

Dr. John DeCotis Future Educator Scholarship awards a $1500 scholarship to a system graduating senior who plans to major in the field of education in college. The scholarship is given annually by our local schools in honor of retired FCBOE School Superintendent Dr. John DeCotis who served from 1999-2010. The application window is now open and will remain open until the deadline of 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023. No applications will be accepted after that deadline and incomplete applications will not be considered.

Scholarship Application Fayetteville Masonic Lodge #711
Fayetteville Masonic Lodge #711 provides two annual scholarships of two thousand dollars ($2000.00) each to senior students attending a college, university or technical school on completion of high school graduation.
Eligibility: Applicants must be a spring 2023 high school graduate and must begin college or technical school as a first-time, full-time freshman in the fall of 2023. All applicants
must have already been accepted at a college or technical school. Your transcript must be included with your application. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as of the end of the 1st semester of the 2022-2023 school year.
Applicants must provide SAT or ACT scores. A copy of scores from the testing service will be accepted if the information is not included on your transcript.
Deadline: Completed application package must be received by the Scholarship Chairperson by the close of business on April 30, 2023.
