MOTHER'S DAY PRAYER
HOLD MY MOTHER CLOSE
Heavenly Father, hold my mother close to your Heart
as I hold her close to mine. Let her know today and every day
how much we love her. Lord, comfort her mind and reassure her
that her motherly care was everything we needed and wanted
And that we love her dearly.
Lord, comfort her body as she ages and grant her health and
vitality as she goes through her days here on earth. Bring all
good things to my precious mother, dear God, and bless her
every day, in every way. Amen!
Term Two, Week Two - 6 May 2020
Principal - Luke Shaw
WELCOME TO TERM TWO
Welcome to Term Two! We begin this term with our teachers facilitating the teaching and learning programme for all students, whether at home or at school. This is a different start to the term for everyone and I thank you for your ongoing support. It has been wonderful to see students working hard at school and hear about how students have been working hard at home.
I take this opportunity to remind our parents and caregivers that it is their decision as to whether they choose to send their child to school, or have them work from home. As a school, we continue to support each family in their decision.
Our staff are busy at school and I continue to be amazed by their efforts. I thank our staff for their continued commitment and collaboration. Our teachers and education assistants are facilitating the completion of remote learning packs for students attending school. Seesaw is being used to complement this work, in all year groups. Our teachers are also maintaining connections with families by engaging in pastoral calls. These calls provide an important opportunity for teachers to connect with parents to discuss how the student is progressing. If you do receive a missed call from your child’s teacher, I ask that you call them back to have this conversation.
Our teachers have also been having specific discussions with parents about the information provided in Student Summary Sheets. In normal times, this information would be discussed during Parent/Teacher Meetings in Term One. These conversations take a different form this year. The information was provided to all parents via SEQTA at the end of Term One and parents will now have the opportunity to engage in a conversation around the content of this document, if they have not done so already. Again, I thank our teachers for their commitment to ensuring our home-school partnerships remain strong, albeit in a different format.
PRE-KINDY & KINDY 2021
Enrolment interviews for Pre-Kindy and Kindy 2021 will be commencing from tomorrow, Thursday 7 May 2020. At this point in time, enrolment interviews will take place via video chat, through Microsoft Teams. This allows me to have a conversation with each family, just in a different format. The school will provide the information required to access Microsoft Teams, when families book their interview time. When things return to normal, families who have had an online enrolment interview will be offered the opportunity of a school tour. We will return to a face-to-face format for enrolment interviews when we are able to do so. If you are interested in having your child attend Pre-Kindy or Kindy at St Brigid's in 2021, I encourage you to contact the office to book an enrolment interview. It is important that families complete the relevant paperwork and partake in an interview as soon as possible, in order to secure their child's place.
MOTHER’S DAY
I wish all mothers and mother figures a happy Mother’s Day on Sunday 10 May. While we are not able to come together at school for our Mother’s Day breakfast this year, please know that we are thinking of you this week. Personally, I am looking forward to celebrating my wife’s first Mother’s Day. Hopefully the weather enables us to get out and have a picnic this weekend.

We won’t be sending out paper brochures to the students for issue 3, but here is the link to issue 3 catalogues
https://scholastic.com.au/book-club/virtual-catalogue-1/

It is easy to order. The Book Club LOOP platform for parents allows you to pay by credit card.
