OPEN ACCESS EBOOKS ON JSTOR
OVER 750 BOOKS in Spanish, freely available
All Open Access content is offered at no cost to users or librarians!
Over 750 books in Spanish are now freely available on the JSTOR platform, complete with MARC records for libraries. The addition of these titles is part of an initiative to increase the discovery and accessibly of content from Latin America. This content has been added to the existing, rich collection of Open Access materials accessible on JSTOR.
All Open Access content is offered at no cost to users or librarians, no login or registration required. These ebooks are easy to use and are cross-searchable with all other content on JSTOR.org. Users are able to copy and paste freely, in addition to downloading and saving files as standard PDFs.
Thanks to a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, JSTOR has digitized and preserved 680 out-of-print books, published by academic research center, El Colegio de México (Colmex). These titles, including key books in the humanities and social sciences, are openly available for use on the platform. JSTOR has published a white page covering this project and its impact.
Additionally, a partnership led by the Latin American Research Resources Project (LARRP) in collaboration with the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), JSTOR, and Latin American bookseller García Cambeiro has begun a program, making nearly 150 of CLACSO’s frontlist titles, published from 2018-2019 in Argentina, openly accessible. By early 2020, 200 frontlist titles will be available for use.
