Roanoke Ranger News to Know
Roanoke Elementary, Northwest ISD
We ARE the Rangers! We ARE Unique, and We ARE the Future!
A Note from the Principal
Dear Ranger Families,
July is coming to an end, and August will be here before you know it! This newsletter is packed with information to help keep you "in the know!"
Please remember, we must have your proof of residence, online enrollment, and document verification complete in order to place your child on a class list. This includes new and returning students! Thank you for doing your part to ensure we have the teaching staff needed to accommodate appropriate class sizes. Working together, we can make the back to school transition a smooth one!
Please save the dates for-
- RES PTA Back to School Pool Parties, August 9 & 10 (See below for more info!)
- Meet the Teacher, August 15
- Kindergarten Parent Meeting, August 17, 8:00a.m.
- First Day of School, Wednesday, August 17. Doors open at 7:15a.m.
This year, we will join together- students, staff, and community- to "Dare to Be Unique!" Please help us showcase the ways (large and small) that our students are stepping up and standing out by submitting the quick form below!
Thank you for your partnership, and remember, here at Roanoke Elementary...
We ARE the Rangers! We ARE Unique, and We ARE the Future!
See ya'!
:) Mrs. King

Apply for Free and Reduced-Price Meal Program
During the 2022-2023 school year, free and reduced-price meals will be provided to those who have submitted an approved application. This differs from the 2021-2022 school year, when all elementary and middle school students could receive free meals because of temporary federal funding in response to the COVID pandemic.
If you believe you qualify for the free and reduced-price meal program, applications will open on July 1, and are necessary as the federal program that allowed all elementary and middle school students to eat free will NOT carry over to the 2022-2023 school year.
Free and reduced-price meal program applications will be available online or at all NISD school front offices. Click here for instructions on how to complete a paper application if you prefer. Those who applied and were accepted into the free and reduced-price meal program last year will receive a 30-day grace period of the program. A new accepted application will be required after this time period.
