Namib desert
The Namib desert is referred to one of the oldest deserts in the world and has been in existence for 43 million years. The Namib spreads to Namibia, Angola and South Africa. This unique landscape of rivers, dunes, and foggy coasts make it home to a variety of flora and fauna.
Cape of Good Hope
The Cape of Good Hope is a rocky headland on the Atlantic ocean. It is usually referred to as the most south-western point on the African continent.
Johannesburg
Johannesburg is one of the largest cities in South Africa. It is also the provincial capitol of Gauteng, the wealthiest province in South Africa. This city is one of the 50 largest metropolitan areas in the world.
Zambezi River
The Zambezi River is the fourth largest African river in the world. Also, its the largest African river flowing into the Indian Ocean. It flows through Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, and Angola. The Zambezi is also home to Victoria Falls.
Limpopo River
The Limpopo starts in central southern Africa and winds its way to the Indian ocean. It flows through South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Botswana.
Lusaka
Lusaka is Zambia's largest city and capitol. It is also one of southern Africa's fastest growing cities.
Kalahari Desert
The Kalahari desert is a large sandy Savannah in southern Africa. It stretches Botswana, South Africa and Namibia.
Cabinda
Cabinda is an exclave and province of Angola. Cabinda is separated from the rest of Angola by territory belonging to the Democratic Republic of Congo. The north of Cabinda is bordered by the Republic of Congo.
Orange River
The orange river is the longest river in South Africa at 1,367 miles long. It starts in the Drakensburg Mountains and finishing in the Atlantic ocean.
Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls is a waterfall on the Zambezi river, on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. The falls is the largest water fall system in the world at 1,708 meters across and 355 feet high.
