Definition - body is divided into 2 halves
Phylum examples - cordata, mollusk, arthropoda, annelida, nematoda
*most advanced body plan
*has highly specialize organs
Radial
Definition - circular pattern
Phylum examples - cnidaria, echinodermata
*provides protection and resources all around the body
*body radiates from the center point
Asymmetry
Definition - without symmetry of body organs
Phylum examples - porifera
*it is a very simple body plan
*grows according to the environment
