Anti-Bullying Week 2022

Anti-Bullying Week 2022 will take place from 14th to 18th November and we will be doing activities relating to this in school. Children can come to school wearing odd socks that week in support of anti-bullying if they wish.

Mrs Rehor

Sadly, after an association with our school that goes back over 20 years, Mrs Rehor will leave us at Christmas. She has undertaken many different roles in that time, including the Chair of FOSS, and teaching assistant in both KS1 and KS2. Most recently, she has supported learning in Willow class and has helped most of our current children to learn their basic skills. We are sad to see her leave, and wish her well for the future.

Learning Reviews

Thank you for attending Learning Reviews this week. We hope that you found these useful. If you were unable to make your appointment, do please arrange to meet your child’s teacher at a mutually convenient time this term.

Sports Hall Athletics

Well done to our team that went to the Sports Hall Athletics Event yesterday. They all tried really hard and gave their best, their team work was amazing. Saxton came third overall!!

Search the house for a bag of loose change – look down the back of the sofa and at the back of drawers. Bring the change in to cover Pudsey!

Children are arranging different activities throughout the day, including a dancing competition.

Open Classrooms - 30th November 2022

Open classrooms takes place on Wednesday 30th November. This will be the opportunity for you to look at your child’s books, classroom and learning, and they can tell you about all the things that they have done since the start of the year.

Attendance

Good attendance at school is very important. If your child misses more than 10% of their learning, they have 10% less chance of achieving their potential. Please make sure that they attend on time as much as possible, and only allow your child to stay off school for genuine illness.

Free School Meals

If your household income is low or has recently decreased, your child may well qualify for Free School Meals. Indeed, over the last two years, we have seen a significant rise in successful applications. If you wish to apply for Free School Meals, you can complete the application form: HERE

Parent Forum

Thank you to everyone who attended the forum relating to Ofsted last week. It was really helpful to have the opportunity to share views and discuss questions and concerns.

Christingles

Thank you to everyone who has offered help with Christingles. We were overwhelmed by the positive support that we have received, and are delighted that we will be able to offer a Christingle to everyone in school this year.

Christmas Fayre

The Christmas Fayre will take place in church again this year, after school on Friday 2nd December. This will be part of wider Christmas activities happening in the village throughout that weekend. Please see the poster below for further details.

School Lunches

After half term we will be on Week 1 of the New Autumn 2 lunches menu.

Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.

Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.

Each day there are 4 choices, either the hot dinner, hot vegetarian option, jacket potato with a choice of toppings or a sandwich. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.

Packed Lunches - if you are sending grapes in your child's packed lunch, can you please ensure that these are cut in half.
