FAQs
Two-way contact is any conversation a student has with a teacher about their academics. This includes attending live class connect sessions and Monthly Progress Conferences. This can also include an email conversation between a student and a teacher about their progress or questions they have about their assignments.
When do I need to excuse my student's absence?
If your student is going to miss 5 or more days, you will need to send an email to attendance@k12insightwa.org. If your student is going to miss less than 5 days during the week, do not worry about getting them excused. Students will only earn unexcused absences if they miss 5 or more days.
Who do I contact if my student is sick and cannot attend?
If your student is too sick to attend school for 4 days or less, please keep in contact with their teachers and come up with a plan for catching up. You do not need to notify the attendance department. If your student cannot attend school for 5 days or more due to their illness, please send a doctors note or similar documentation to the attendance department to be excused for that week.
