A Principal's Perspective
Last week I shared examples of how You Matter to students, parents and staff members. I have been thinking about how I can show others that they matter to me. As a principal, how can I be purposeful in showing others that they matter? As a teacher, librarian, specialists, paraprofessional, counselor, how can we be intentional in showing others that they do indeed Matter? We can easily say You Matter, but how as a GP staff member can we show someone that You Matter?

News & Notes
- GP Social Dues are $25 for full-time staff, $12.50 for part-time staff and $15 for paraprofessionals. Please pay in CASH to your team representative. Team rep turn in team funds to Alicia when collected. Our goal is to collect all the dues by the end of October.
Alicia will be confirming with each staff member the printer copy count for August 1-31st. Please stop by her office to confirm your amount. This is not a gotcha. We want to make sure the bill is correct before we pay for it. It seems way off - last year we paid $500 for August with additional staff & students. This year for August the bill is $790 with less students and staff. The tech department is helping us with this problem as well. Just a reminder to help - please run class sets on the copier not the printer. Color printer copies are like gold due to the cost per page. All staff being mindful of where and what we print will collectively help the GP budget.
Our method students are here on campus! Last year we had the students sit with their assigned class. This year we do have room for them to eat in the lounge or in the science pod. It would not hurt for them to at least one time sit with your class during lunch to get a lunchroom perspective.
Happy Visits will begin October 13th. Lunch with the principal for 4th graders will begin the 2nd six weeks of school as well.
Barring an emergency where you need to attend to a situation needing immediate attention, if you are leaving campus during the day, please sign in/out on the clipboard in the cubby across from Deanne's desk.
