Student Drop Off
For the first few days of school, parents may walk their students to the exterior doors at the car line. We will have staff inside the building to make sure the students find their way to class.
Staggered Start - KINDERGARTEN ONLY
Kindergarten students have a staggered start schedule during the first week of school. The schedule is as follows…
Monday, August 15 - January, February & March birthdays ONLY attend
Tuesday, August 16 - April, May & June birthdays ONLY attend
Wednesday, August 17 - July, August & September birthdays ONLY attend
Thursday, August 18 - October, November & December birthdays ONLY attend
Friday, August 19 - ALL Kindergarten students attend
Morning arrival at school during the first week, which includes your child’s staggered day, Friday, August 19, and Monday, August 22 will operate a little differently than our normal procedures. If you would like to drive your child to school and walk them to the front entrance doors you can do so. You would need to park at the front of the school and walk your child to the entrance between 7:45-8:00 so we don’t cause traffic issues. From there, we will have staff members help all students find their way to class. No parents can enter the building at this time.
If you would like to drive your child to school during that first week and have them exit the car using the car line you can drop them off between 7:05-7:30 just like any other school day. There will be adults to assist children getting out of the car and finding their way to class.
Birthday Treats
Parents may also order celebration baskets from our school's cafeteria via this link.
Lunch Visitors
Lunch visits will not start until August 29th. This will enable students to get used to the procedures and expectations of the cafeteria before adding changes to their routines. We appreciate your understanding as we work together to get the school year started with consistency!
Student Cell Phone Policy
Electronic devices, including cell phones, must be turned off during the school day and while on the school grounds. Student cell phones should be kept in a book bag. The student may not use a cell phone to call a parent during the school day without a teacher’s permission.
A cell phone may not be used during the day to play games or to text message. This includes devices like smartwatches or electronic communication devices that serve as telephones.
If a student has a smart watch and is only using the basic watch features while at school, it is fine to have and wear.
First offense: warning and email home to parents.
Second offense: cell phone or watch taken by teacher. Email/phone call home to parents. Student receives it back at end of the day.
Third offense: cell phone or watch taken by teacher. Phone call home to parents by administrator and parents must come get cell phone or watch.
From our School Counselors, Mrs. Costanzo and Mrs. Ziembiec!
Have a great weekend, Hornets!
