Mrs. Seeley's Weekly Stats
November 16
Sweet Friends!
Reading
Visualize
What is visualizing as a reading strategy?
Mental Pictures
Mental pictures are the cinema unfolding in your mind that make reading three-dimensional.
How does visualizing help?
Visualizing helps readers engage with text in ways that make it personal and memorable.
Sometimes readers adapt their images as they continue to read.
This week in phonics we will review long vowels. We will spell and read words with the ge, dge, and gi. A phonics practice page will be included with homework this week to help us with these difficult sounds. Please read over it numerous times.
Writing
We are putting the finishing touches on our personal narratives this week. We will be sharing them soon!
This week our language skill will be singular and plural nouns, as well as verbs.
Math
We will be solving words problems with three addends. We will be making ten with two of the three addends. Keep practicing those addition and subtraction facts up to ten.
Social Sciences
We will continue to study our home state, Alabama. If anyone has access to real cotton, we are in need of some for a project we are completing with Mrs. Scott in the art room. We are also in need of some burlap for this project too. If you are able to help with these items please let me know.
