Please Make Attendance a Priority
Attendance has a direct correlation to student success! If students miss a high school class for an excusable reason, parents/guardians must email Mrs. Andrews to clear the absence: firstname.lastname@example.org and students must follow up with teachers for assignments. Students should follow up directly with college instructors in the case of an absence. Next week is AVC finals. Although we are not on campus, we are still responsible for record keeping. Please make attending both your high school and college classes a priority!
Again, if a student misses a high school class, parents must contact Mrs. Andrews (email@example.com) to clear the absence. We really appreciate your support with this matter!

STOPIt SafeScreen Procedures
With that said, once we are able to bring back in-person instruction, students must complete a self-assessment on the STOPIt website each day prior to coming to campus. Again, students will be asked to show their screening pass as they enter campus for future in-person instruction. The STOPIt SafeScreen is a web-based, HIPAA-compliant, data-encrypted application designed for any Internet-connected device or smartphone in order to ensure access by all.
If students cannot find the email from STOPIt SafeScreen, please go to the following site to register: https://safescreen.stopitsolutions.com/welcome/6938ece5285241c59491ba57ad309bc3
Please remember to ensure that SOAR High School is listed as your location and that you take the time to add in your cell phone number in the settings in order to receive daily text notifications.

Senior Activities and Graduation 2021
As of now, SOAR plans to have a Senior Week full of activities for our graduating seniors. This will take place the week of May 24th, culminating with a graduation ceremony in the AVC Football Stadium on Friday, May 28th at 7pm. We are following the guidelines from the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health and therefore do not have all of the details, as to how many tickets a graduate will receive at this time. As soon as we have that, we will be forthcoming with that information. Our goal is to have the best possible event with the focus of keeping all of our graduates, staff, and attendees safe in the process.
For more information on AVC's virtual commencement ceremony, visit https://www.avc.edu/commencement.
Additionally, on Friday, April 30th we will celebrate College Signing Day with our Seniors. This is the day that the Class of 2021 declares what college they are going to attend in the Fall. Our SOAR STARs have worked very hard over the past four years and our counseling department is excited to celebrate their success! Seniors, please stay posted on Google Classroom for all the details and please SAVE the DATE!
Also, the Antelope Valley Fair and Event Center, as well as the Antelope Valley Union High School District will be hosting the 20th annual 4.0 Student Recognition Celebration. This year's milestone event is themed "What's Next? Make it Happen!" and will take place virtually on May 13th. If seniors qualified for this event, they received detailed information in their AVUHSD Gmail account. We highly encourage all those who qualified to submit a video and entry form for cash prizes by the deadline (4/26/2021). If you need more information on this, please contact Mrs. Galindo (firstname.lastname@example.org).
If you have any questions regarding graduation, caps/gowns, etc., please email Mrs. Andrews (email@example.com).
New Document Delivery Option in PowerSchool
The Antelope Valley Union High School District has added a document delivery feature to PowerSchool. This will enable SOAR High School to send report cards via email. In order for this feature to work, parents will need to log into their PowerSchool account and "Opt-In" for document delivery.
