Superintendent's Message
January 13, 2023
Clever Families,
Happy New Year! It’s hard to believe that half of our year is over, but I’m excited for what lies ahead in our spring semester! I hope everyone had a great Christmas break and is ready for the second half of the year.
Activities are in full swing with students participating in so many things–basketball, archery, academic teams–the list goes on and on. Even though the calendar says January, spring sports will be gearing up soon. We invite the community to attend games and/or performances to support our students.
As we start this new year, we will be looking ahead and beginning to plan for the future needs of the district. While we are updating and utilizing all possible classroom space (for example, updating the classrooms in the red brick building), we must be forward-thinking. As our city grows, our enrollment numbers will continue to climb. In order to ensure we will be able to continue to meet the needs of our students and our community, a long-range planning committee has been established. Our committee will begin looking at how to best meet the needs of our growing student population and put together a master list of priorities. As we establish these priorities, we will share information with the community and ask for community feedback.
As always, we are grateful for the support we receive from our community. We look forward to working together to meet the needs of our growing district.
Sincerely,
Dr. Breeden
Superintendent
Clever R-V School District
Weather in Missouri can be unpredictable. Please make sure you have reviewed the districts AMI plans (linked below). Just as a reminder, the first three snow days which occur are already built into the calendar. They will not have to be made up. The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) allows schools to create AMI (Alternative Method of Instruction) days during inclement weather, and the Clever School District will implement AMI for snow days 4-7.
We are so very proud of Mr. Casey who is the 2023 recipient of the Outstanding Administrator Award from the Missouri Thespians Association! The award was presented on Thursday, January 5, during the opening session for the Missouri State Thespian Conference in Kansas City. Thank you to the members of our thespian troupe who read their nomination letter at the December Board of Education meeting.
Congratulations, Mr. Casey!
