Big picture

Attendance for Digital Learners Beginning Quarter 2

The Georgia Department of Education requires schools and districts to report attendance for distance learners. Students are considered to be in attendance when progress is demonstrated by completion of assignments in a timely manner.

Beginning Quarter 2, all modules in Accelerate Education have been dated for clear pacing and assignment completion. If there is little or no progress made by the Wednesday of each week, parents will receive a reminder notification from the teacher. If a student does not complete assignments/modules by that Friday, he/she will be retroactively marked absent dating to the last submitted assignment for attendance reporting.

If you have any concerns regarding your child’s needs, please contact your home school counselor for any assistance.

DL Packet Pickup for Q2 (Two Opportunities!)

Each elementary school will host a Digital Learning Packet Pickup (drive-through service) on Friday, October 9th from 1:00-1:30pm and again on Tuesday, October 13th from 9:30-10:00am to distribute materials for Quarter 2. Parents, please plan to attend one of these pickup events to receive the necessary materials for your student.

  • Students in grades K-3 will need to pick up packets for ELA and Mathematics.
  • Students in grade 5 will need to pick up packets only for Social Studies.
  • Requested packets for students in grades 4-5 will be available for pickup.

Science Fair

All 4th and 5th grade students (digital and in person) are invited to participate in the 2020 Science Fair. DL Student "Shoutouts"

Ms. Miller's Entire Class

"I would like to give a shout out to my entire 4th grade DL class! To extend their knowledge and to practice their speaking and listening skills, each student chose one of their favorite battles from the American Revolution. Students then researched their battle and created a Google Slides presentation. Students submitted their presentation via Google Classroom and presented it during our Google Meet time."
