Student Handbook Reminders
Phones and Smartwatches: Per our policy, PERSONAL COMMUNICATION DEVICES (BP 5136), electronic devices can be used before or after school, but during the school hours any student with a cell phone out or smartwatch on will be asked by a teacher or administrator to turn it off and put it into their backpack.
School Fee Reminder
PLSD student academic fees need to be paid. If you have not done so already, please log into your Infinite Campus Parent Portal and pay online via eCheck, Credit or Debit Card. Jump Rope for Heart
Hello Sycamore Creek Elementary Family,
Sycamore Creek Elementary will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart! The fundraising for Jump Rope for Heart will start January 31, 2024 and will run through March 1, 2024. All of the fundraising will occur online. Donation information will be sent home on Wednesday, January, 31, 2023. The educational health lessons regarding heart health will be provided in physical education classes and during morning announcements throughout the Jump Rope for Heart event. All students will be participating in the jumping event during their physical education classes during the week of February 26, 2024-March 1, 2024. The goals of the event are becoming better at jumping rope, learning concepts that improve heart health, and fundraising money for the American Heart Association.
Attendance Matters
As partners in your child's education, we want to take a moment to highlight the crucial role that regular school attendance and punctuality play in your child's academic success.
Consistent attendance is the foundation for a positive and effective learning experience. When students attend school regularly, they have the opportunity to engage with the curriculum, build strong relationships with teachers and peers, and participate in valuable classroom discussions. This active involvement contributes significantly to their overall academic growth and development.
Moreover, punctuality is a key aspect of cultivating good habits and responsibility. Arriving on time ensures that your child doesn't miss important instructions or introductory information, setting a positive tone for the rest of the day. It also instills a sense of discipline that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Here are a few reasons why regular attendance and punctuality matter:
Maximized Learning Opportunities: Each day presents new learning opportunities. Consistent attendance ensures that your child doesn't miss out on important lessons, discussions, and activities that contribute to their academic progress.
Building Relationships: Interactions with teachers and peers are crucial for social and emotional development. Regular attendance allows your child to build strong connections with those around them, fostering a supportive learning environment.
Preparation for the Future: Punctuality is a valuable life skill. Being on time for school prepares your child for future responsibilities, such as meeting deadlines, attending job interviews, and managing commitments.
As we work together to provide the best possible education for your child, we kindly request your support in reinforcing the importance of regular school attendance and punctuality. If there are any challenges or concerns impacting your child's ability to attend school consistently, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to collaborate with you to find solutions that support your child's academic journey.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
