*Middle School and High School (Grades 6-12)- Semester 2 Tips*
We have wrapped up first semester and are moving into second semester. With today being a PIR day for teachers, here is what you can expect from them for semester long classes to help your child be prepared for class beginning tomorrow:
1. Teachers have current second semester rosters and are working on inviting students to their Google Classrooms. Please have your students check their Google Classroom dashboard and select "Join" so they can begin looking at the work.
2. High School (grades 9-12) begins the semester with periods 1-3. Please see the semester rotation for high school located here.
3. High School (grades 9-12)- Chris Olszewski will be at the Warehouse from 9:00-3:30, Tuesday through Friday of this week (January 19-22) to drop off semester one books and grab semester two books for grades 9-12. Please bring your schedule and face covering so he can locate the correct books you need. The address is: 1470 Industrial Avenue.
4. Middle School will keep their same rotation as first semester:
Middle School has an A/B schedule that electives utilize. Core classes and Band, Choir, and Orchestra run every day. With electives, the schedule runs as follows:
Monday (A Day)- periods 1-3
Tuesday (A Day)- periods 4-6
Wednesday- Weekly Clinics- appointments set up by students or teachers to receive one-on-one help
Thursday (B Day)- periods 1-3
Friday (B Day)- periods 4-6
6. Once your student has joined their Google Classrooms, please have them check for their Zoom invitations in the "Stream".
7. Students and families can see their schedules for semester two in PowerSchool.
8. Report cards will be sent home for grades 6-12 once grades are finalized in PowerSchool.

Additional Information for High School-MTDA and APEX
High School students with the course called “Online Learning” means that they are being enrolled in courses through our APEX platform. In this program, students may work in these classes during any time of the day, but will have access to their facilitator as their schedule shows.
APEX courses are facilitated by a staff member from our school district who will oversee the progress a student makes in their APEX courses, as these classes are learned on their own. Students will be rostered into the classes collectively arranged with their home school counselor.
Weekly reports will be sent to families and students through the APEX platform to show a student's progress on their class(es).
Montana Digital Academy (MTDA) is displayed on their schedules as a placeholder for where students have time built into their day to complete the coursework provided by a teacher through MTDA. Students are to be approved for these classes with a registration process they completed with their high school counselor.
Montana Digital Academy offers classes through their program where they provide their own teacher to instruct the course(s). These courses begin September 8th. STUDENTS NEED TO CHECK their junk mail folders often, as MTDA emails get dumped there.
MTDA classes are "scheduled" in your PowerSchool schedule so we know you are taking a full load of courses.
MTDA does not follow the district's block schedule - students are expected to login and work daily in order to stay on track each week.
Please check out their calendar found here.
