Fort Stockton ISD

Graduation Information as of Monday, April 27, 2020

Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,

Fort Stockton ISD wants to inform our students, parents, and community about graduation as far as what we know from the Texas Education Agency. Fort Stockton ISD has received some information, and here is what our school district does know from the Texas Education Agency as of Tuesday, April 21, 2020, in regards to graduation.

How do we obtain approval to conduct an in-person graduation ceremony?

Texas Education Agency is working with public health specialists and a superintendent task force to identify the circumstances under which an in-person ceremony may occur. Guidelines for in-person graduation ceremonies will be made available as soon as possible.

How do we obtain approval to conduct a completely virtual graduation ceremony?

Graduation ceremonies that will be completely virtual are approved and may proceed in accordance with local plans. A student may participate in a virtual graduation ceremony upon certification that the student has satisfied all graduation requirements. No action is required on the part of school districts to obtain approval for a virtual ceremony.

We hope to have information and guidance from the Texas Education Agency soon. Fort Stockton ISD wants to thank everyone for their patience, understanding, and flexibility during this unprecedented time. We are inspired to see all the community support of our students as we persevere through this situation together for the best interest of our students, staff, and community.

Thank you.
