Hendricks High School Happenings
October 10-October 21
Math
There has been, are going to be, some radical changes in the way some of the math classes are going to run, especially 9th and 10th grade algebra II. Accelerated math has made its debut! This will allow me to have students focus in on what they specifically need to be working on. Having students working on math that is a bit more at their level, will help students build their mathematics ability and knowledge.
Thanks,

Social Studies
Hello, and a happy spooky October from social studies. The 6th graders completed and then presented their projects on Native American tribes from MN. Which were great by the way. We now will be moving on to the early settlements of MN. In global studies, the 7th and 8th graders presented their inventions/programs on how to clean up the Mississippi River. Over in high school, the 9th and 10th graders learned and then created population pyramids, explored what exactly a CBD is, and the differences between pop and folk cultures. Lutefisk anyone? In government, the 11th and 12thgraders explored the complex relationships between the three branches of government, the different forms of federalism, and also watched the highlights of the last two Presidential debates. The quarter went by fast, and we learned a lot of new and interesting information, but the excitement and learning is just getting started.

Science
And if you look in the sky after school and think that you see a bird, or a plane, or possibly Superman, fear not! Students in after school camp have been taking test flights on school grounds with a drone. Check out their awesome flight skills in the video below!
