Senior Class Photo: Friday, February 10th

The senior class photo is on Friday, February 10. Students will be released at 2:10 to gather at the flagpole for the group photo, weather permitting. An alternate location will be announced upon inclement weather. If you have any questions please call our office at 360-575-7663. Thank you.

Are you interested in volunteering at CISPUS? We are looking for you.

We are in need of approximately 35 counselors to meet our needs. Seniors and Juniors are given preference and sophomores are encouraged to apply. In addition, Students can earn community service and service to school hours.

When: April 11-14 & April 25-28.

Planning for Student Led Conferences and High School and Beyond Plan

Students in grades 9-11 will participate in Student Led Conferences and High School and Beyond Plan preparation in January and February during Advisory. It is very important that students attend their advisory class on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.

AVANT Testing: March 1, 2023

This assessment is for our bilingual students.

Smarter Balance Assessment: Grades 10-11

Host a Japanese Exchange Student March 17-27, 2023

Our sister city exchange program with Wako International High School is resuming following a prolonged pandemic pause. We are excited to meet 10 students in March. We are looking for 10 families to serve as hosts for two weeks. Students will attend school each day and experience a tailor made program lead by Keiko Pedersen that includes experiencing two regular MM classes, English tutoring sessions, and multiple cultural experiences. If interested in hosting please reach out to Mr. Travis Ruhter to receive an application.

Attention Seniors!

If you are planning on attending a four year university upon graduation, please check with the university Admissions Department to make sure you are meeting all of the admission requirements (CADR's). Admission requirements have changed and you need to be aware of what classes and admission tests are required.

Dress Code

All students who attend Mark Morris High School are expected to respect the school community by dressing appropriately for a 9-12 educational environment. Student attire should facilitate participation in learning as well as the health and safety of students and the adults that supervise them. This policy is intended to provide guidance for students, staff and parents.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Tops must cover areas from one armpit across to the other armpit, have shoulder straps, and not expose excessive midriff. Shorts and skirts must go down to approximately 3 to 4 inches in length on the upper thighs. Rips or tears in clothing should be lower than the 3 to 4 inches in length.
  • Shoes must be worn at all times and should be safe for the school environment (pajamas, bedroom shoes or slippers shall not be worn, except for school activities approved by the principal).
  • See-through or mesh garments must not be worn without appropriate coverage underneath that meet the minimum requirement of the dress code.
  • Specialized courses may require specialized attire, such as sports uniforms or safety gear.

Additional Requirements:

  • Clothing may not depict, imply, advertise, or advocate illegal, violent, or lewd conduct, weapons, of the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, or other controlled substances.
  • Clothing may not depict or imply pornography, nudity, or sexual acts.
  • Clothing may not display or imply vulgar, discriminatory, or obscene language or images.
  • Clothing may not state, imply, or depict hate speech/imagery targeting groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious affiliation, or any other protected classification.
  • Costumes may only be worn in conjunction with school sanctioned spirit themes.
  • Sunglasses may not be worn inside the building.
  • Clothing and accessories that endanger students or staff safety may not be worn.
  • Apparel, jewelry, accessories, tattoos, or manner of grooming that, by virtue of its color, arrangement, trademark or any other attribute, denotes membership in a gang that advocates illegal or disruptive behavior is prohibited.

There are still seats available for the March 11, 2023 SAT at Mark Morris High School. The registrations deadline is February 10, 2023. Register online at SAT Dates and Deadlines. Please call our office at (360) 575-7663 if you have any questions.

Register to Ride

Longview Schools is asking students and parents to “Register to Ride” the bus this year. With high fuel costs it is our goal to make our bus system as efficient as possible and knowing who rides the bus each day will help. Registering to ride is quick and easy through Skyward Family Access or talk to your school secretary if you need help. Please see the video tutorial on how to register on the district website. Go to, departments, transportation, find out more, boundaries & busing to access the video. Every student at the bus stop will be provided transportation whether they are registered to ride or not. Thank you for supporting this effort.

Attendance Information

Please be sure to call our attendance office at (360) 575-7665 for all absences.

If you call before school hours, please leave a voicemail clearly indicating student's name, date and reason for absence.

If you plan to pick up your student due to illness or appointments, you will need to show photo identification.

If a student is tardy to school please write a note and have the student present it to our attendance office.
