Mrs. Frayer, the School Counselor, visited classrooms this week to teach students about Southeast’s anti-bullying rules and reporting procedures. Check your student’s backpack for information on some of the topics that were addressed. See below for an electronic version.

This year, teachers will keep track of students without badges.
- If a student does not have their badge for a third day, the student will be sent to the office at the beginning of their recess.
- Students will call their parents to make a plan to have a badge the following day.
- If they do not have their badge (or $5.00 for a replacement) the following day, students will return to the office at the beginning of their recess. This will continue until an appropriate plan has been made and implemented.
- Students will be provided one replacement badge, if needed, free of charge. After the first free replacement badge, there will be a $5.00 fee for each additional badge issued.
Level 1: Attendance rate of 90%
Level 2: Attendance rate between 85% and 90%
Level 3: Attendance rate is below 80%
Ms. Hart, our School Social Worker, will be working with students and families to make sure we meet the 90/90 goal at Southeast Please help us by making being at school a priority for your family.
If your child does have to be absent, please call the school office (359-4360) to report the student's absence. If the school does not receive a call when a student is absent, we will attempt to contact you to check on the student.
Social Worker Spotlight
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing tips and facts to help improve attendance.
Fact of the week-- It is so important that we start the year STRONG with positive attendance, because research shows that students who miss more school in September are significantly more likely to become chronically absent later in the year. The good news? Students who miss fewer than two days in September typically have good attendance rates for the entire year! Please help your Southeast Superstars start the year strong by getting to school on time each day in September.

Early Release Dates
All elementary schools will have an early release, once a month, for our teachers to receive professional development focused on increasing student success. On early release dates, all elementary schools release at 1:30 PM. Below you will find the dates for the 2019-2020 school year. Early release transportation arrangements must be communicated with your child’s teacher. At Back to School Night forms will be available, for parents to complete, regarding after school and early release transportation arrangements. If transportation changes need to be made, throughout the year, please contact your child’s teacher or the Southeast Office.

Do You Know A Park Hill Star?
The Park Hill Star recognition program was started in 2015 to celebrate support staff and teachers whose work is especially noteworthy.
The following is an overview of the Park Hill Star Program:
Our employees are the reason we are so successful here in the Park Hill School District, and we would like to recognize them for all they do for our students.
That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee.
Click on the link above for optional insurance coverage information.
You will find several ways to stay up to date on school activities throughout the year on the Southeast website , Facebook, Twitter and newsletters from your child’s teacher. You will also occasionally get an automated email or voicemail message sent to you by the school with important information and reminders. We know two-way communication is best, so please feel free to call, email, or stop by the school with any questions you may have regarding your child’s education.
