Meet Our 8th Grade Social Studies Teachers
Mrs. Rinaldi
Mrs. Rinaldi currently teaches 8th grade Social Studies. Mrs. Rinaldi has been teaching for 23 years, all of those being with Hamilton Local Schools! Mrs. Rinaldi earned both her undergraduate and masters degree from The Ohio State University. Fun fact about Mrs. Rinaldi…she visited five national parks this summer including Olympic, North Cascades, Glacier, Yellowstone and Tetons. The Tetons was her favorite!
Mr. Tyson
From Desk of Mrs. Coalter, Assistant Principal
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we strive to provide a safe and enriching learning environment for your child, we would like to remind you about our school's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) regarding technology and digital resources. I have attached our Acceptable Use Policy below.
Our AUP is in place to ensure that students use technology responsibly and ethically. It outlines the guidelines and expectations for the use of school-provided devices and internet access. We believe that fostering responsible digital citizenship is crucial in preparing our students for success in an increasingly connected world.
We kindly ask for your support in reinforcing these guidelines at home and engaging in open conversations with your child about responsible technology use. By working together, we can create a positive and secure digital learning environment for all students.
If you have any questions or concerns about the Acceptable Use Policy, please do not hesitate to contact us. Your partnership is invaluable in ensuring a safe and productive school experience for your child.
Thank you,
Mrs. Coalter

Career Exploration Students Code Ozobots
Students in the 8th grade Career Exploration class recently participated in Project Innovation with the Franklin County Educational Service Center. Science/STEM specialist, Mr. Robert Niedermeyer taught students how to code Ozobots. The same coding that students used to program Ozobots (to move through cities that they created) is the same basic concept used to create multiple modes of autonomous transportation. Autonomous travel is the future of transportation and seamlessly combines the career clusters of STEM and Transportation, Distribution and Logistics, which students recently explored. This was an AWESOME experience for our Hamilton Middle School students!

Holiday Help
As we enter the holiday season, we're thrilled to once again introduce our Holiday Help Program here at HLS, a heartwarming initiative that aims to provide Holiday assistance to our students in need. It's a time of year when our community can truly come together and make a positive impact on the lives of those less fortunate.
The Hat, Glove, and Sock Drive continues this week! All donations can be turned into your child's AIM teacher. The AIM that collects the most items will earn donuts and juice at the completion of the donation drive!

Dismissal Reminders
Please make sure your child knows of their transportation arrangements each day. If a change needs to be made, please contact the school BEFORE 2:00 so we can get the message to your child. Contacting the school after 2:00 does not guarantee that your child will get the message.
Car Rider Reminders
1. Car riders should exit the building using the front doors.
2. Students should enter the vehicle once it has pulled up to the sidewalk area. If you do not see your student, please continue to move forward so we can keep the line moving.
3. Students should not be walking across the parking lot or the grassy area to get to a car that is not yet to the sidewalk. This causes a significant safety concern!
4. Drivers, please drive slowly, follow the flow of traffic and be patient!
Student safety is of utmost importance! Please help us keep our students safe by following these guidelines.
Tutor Me
Our school has partnered with TutorMe to provide personalized learning support for every student. We believe that every student should have a sidekick in learning, and TutorMe is helping us achieve that goal! Personalized Learning Support
Tutoring is available 24/7 and is accessible through Clever.
The TutorMe award-winning Lesson Space replicates all the best parts of in-person learning – including face-to-face collaboration through optional live audio and video. This is especially ideal if your student feels more confident and productive in a virtual setting!
Top-Notch Tutors
TutorMe’s thriving community of tutors includes thousands of certified teachers, professionals, advanced-degree holders, and other subject matter experts – all of whom have been thoroughly vetted and background-checked.

The community of writing tutors delivers prompt, detailed feedback on submissions within hours, helping students polish papers and hone their writing skills for future assignments. Have your student submit their next writing assignment to help them get feedback before they get graded.
PBIS
What is PBIS?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It also improves teacher health and wellbeing. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives.
Hamilton Middle School- Student Handbook
Our Mission Statement
EVERY RANGER. This phrase is meant to include everyone—every student, every staff member, every graduate and every community member. All of us working together.
EVERY REASON. The primary focus of every school system is the academic achievement of all students. Our staff and, by extension, our community take on the challenge of doing even more for our students. We educate the whole child. Whatever the need, whatever the issue, whatever the REASON we are going to work together and do the best we can for each other.
EVERY DAY. Thank you to our HLSD community for making our students a priority every day, and for always pitching in to help one another.
