How to make a sentence using this dynamic duo😀

Nouns

A noun is a person, place, thing or idea.

Part of a sentence is a noun phrase such as " The girl".

A noun phrase is a small group of words put together to describes a person, place, thing or idea.

Verbs

A verb shows action. A verb phrase is a small group of words that describes action in a sentence such as " Julia ran slowly"

Artlicles

An article is used to define a noun in more detail. The three articles are a, the, and an.

ex: cake frosting to the cake frosting.

pronouns

Pronouns are used to take the place of a proper noun. "I" is a pronoun because it takes place of a proper noun such as Mikayla.

ex: *"Mikayla wants you to bake a cake so Mikayla can see your baking skills."

or: "I want you to bake a cake so I can see you baking skills."

*Mikayla is the person speaking

Other pronouns include he, she, him, her, they, we, it etc.

Action and Linking verbs

There are two types of verbs, action and linking. Action verbs show action like walking, jumping, skipping etc. Linking verbs are used to connect words. The seven linking verbs in the English language are am, is, are, was, were, being, and been.
