Language Arts

We will continue our new unit focuing on Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird. We will study the historical context and explore issues of identity and prejudice. This is a rich text with so many oppotunities to learn and connect to today's world.

U.S. History

This week in U.S. History we finished our exploration of the 3 branches of government and the seperation of powers. We completed a debate over which branch of government is the most important as well as competed to answer higher level questions in our Cutthroat History competition.

As we have finished our American government unit, we will move on to the first few years of our young republic. Studying important creators of our country such as George Washington Thomas Jefferson Sacagawea, and Lewis and Clark.


We did not take the Interim Test on Friday as planned due to technology issues. This Interim will take place this coming week. I do not know which day yet as I am waiting to hear that the technology is working.

The schedule for this coming week is:

Monday--No School

Tuesday--Friday Proportional Relationships, Constant Rate, and Interim Test
