What Does Faith Teach Us?

" He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death." (Exodus 21:12)

" He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness," (Matthew 19:18 )

“ … If anyone slew a person unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land it would be as if he slew the whole humanity: and if anyone saved a life it would be as if he saved the life of the whole humanity.” (Al-Qur'an 5:32)

Join us for an interfaith vigil as we mourn the death of Sakina bint Hussein (AS) and to honor the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary.

Sakina was the young daughter of Hussein ibne Ali (AS) the grand son of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWW). Over 1400 years ago she died as result of assault and torture at the hands of the tyrannical Ummayyad regime. Her selfless sacrifice lives on in the hearts of millions world wide. As we mark her death anniversary we also remember the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary and pray that this tragedy will empower us to work towards eliminating the deficiencies within our system and make schools a safe haven for our children.
