Morning Drop-Off Reminder
To do this, we need students who are being dropped off by their parents to unload when directed by school staff. We would like to unload all cars and buses from the driveway on the west side of the building to the last set of cones. The first parent in that line should pull all the way forward to the last set of cones, in order to unload as many cars/buses as possible.

Buffett Science & Engineering Fair Coming!
Great News! The Smart Cookie Foundation is once again volunteering to help students with their Science Fair Project! Smart Cookies are a group of high school students who have participated in Science Fairs and competitions at the middle school and high school levels. They are able to meet with sixth graders and any other participating Buffett Science Fair student on November 15, November 29 and December 6th in room C226.
This session starts at 3:05 and ends at 4:15. If students attend homework hideout they can attend with us and then go to Homework Hideout if needed. Students must arrange their own transportation home. Students who ride the bus must sign up at the office for the late bus.
The Buffett Science and Engineering Fair students should have their topic and testable question approved. All applications for the Buffett Science and Engineering Fair are due on November 15, 2018.
Omaha Public Schools Text Message Opt-in Campaign
Omaha Public Schools now uses text messaging capabilities through our mass notification system. Text message capability allows OPS to quickly update parents/guardians and staff with emergency notification information, including weather-related cancellations and important reminders.
Before parents/guardians and staff can begin receiving text notifications, they must first opt-in. On Nov. 16, all cell phone numbers in the OPS database, that currently are not signed up to receive texts, will receive a text message to opt-in. Stay connected with OPS and opt-in by replying Yes or Y to 67587. Parents and staff who are already signed up to receive text messages will receive a confirmation text on Nov. 16.
Important Surveys to Gather Feedback
Parent Voice Survey
Parents, give feedback throughout the year with the Parent Voice survey! Click on the link below to take the survey anytime now through May 22nd!
This survey collects responses on the following:
- Principal Appraisal
- School Climate
- Student Engagement
Parent Technology Survey
For the past three years, Buffett students and staff have taken part in a survey about technology at our school. This year, parent feedback is also requested.
The survey collects data on four main topics related to technology: Classroom, Access, Skills, and Environment. This data helps us and the district implement strategies and initiatives related to technology and it's role in the school environment.
Please take some time to have your voice heard through this survey. The survey closes on Nov. 21.
