Meet our new ELAR Department Team Members!

Brittany Kosumsuriya

Hello! I am Brittany Kosumsuriya, the new Secondary ELAR Instructional Content Coach at ESC Region 11. After spending the last six years in the Teaching and Learning Department (T&L) at Grand Prairie ISD, where I served as a Secondary ELAR Instructional Strategist and then the Secondary ELAR Content Facilitator, I am joining the service center. During my time in T&L, I supported our secondary campuses with content coaching, professional development, blended and digital learning, and implementing the new ELAR TEKS. Prior to working in T&L, I taught high school English for GPISD. I am a mom to a baby boy born in November 2021 and three fur babies (dogs).

Jennifer Garcia

Greetings! I am Jennifer Garcia, the new Literacy Instructional Coach at ESC Region 11. I was a classroom teacher in Dallas ISD and Arlington ISD before transitioning to Arlington ISD's Curriculum and Instruction Department. While working in Curriculum and Instruction, I supported secondary ELAR teachers, coaches, and administrators in various literacy best practices. I am a mother of two teenage girls and currently working on my Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership. When I am not busy with those things, I enjoy anything science fiction and fantasy-related. One of my biggest goals is to travel the world.
