World Language Week
In honor of World Language Week, we invite all district families to join us at Deer Path Middle School on Wednesday, March 8th, for a night to travel around the globe and visit the different cultures that D67 represents. We are looking for families or groups who are willing to set up a table and make a poster board (here are some table ideas) to share your heritage culture. Please respond on this Google form if you would like to participate. Questions? Please contact Vail Kieser, Director of teaching and learning, vkieser@lfschools.net.
Spring Break 2023 Calendar Reminder - March 27-31
A reminder that Spring Break 2023 has been moved to March 27-31.
Attendance matters. Even when an absence is excused, it is still legally considered an absence by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). To move our ISBE summative designation from Commendable to Exemplary, we must continue to focus on academics - and make sure absenteeism stays low. Attendance directly before and after Spring Break is strongly encouraged.
6th Grade Intramural Basketball
Click here for information on the upcoming 6th grade intramural season! The sixth grade intramural basketball season will begin Monday, February 6th. If you are interested in participating in basketball, please sign and return the form to Mr. Miller or Mrs. Bolgrien by February 6th. Teams are limited to the first 40 students!
FastBridge and MAP Testing Reports
Just a reminder that all reports will be mailed to families on February 3rd directly from the district office.
Online Form for Bus Transportation Change
Parents/Guardians of students who either need to ride a different bus or use a 10-pass to ride the bus can now submit their transportation change online. The online form must be completed before 12:00 p.m. on the day that the transportation change is to happen. The transportation change will not be allowed if the form is filled out later than 12:00 p.m.
The form is available on the District Transportation Page or directly at this link: DPM Transportation Change Form.
SOAR - Student Organization and Academic Resource
A reminder that our SOAR program (Student Organization and Academic Resource) will meet Mondays through Thursdays from 3:35 pm - 4:35 pm in room DB211 in order to provide support in homework completion, time management, organization, goal setting, and independence. Students can attend voluntarily to have a quiet place to work, as a recommendation from teachers if missing more than two assignments, or from parents who would like some support in the areas of organization and study skills. Students can attend all four days or any combination of days that fits their schedule. We have high school volunteer tutors who will be available to help in all subjects including world language. Students should be picked up in the back of the school.
Please see the attached flyer for more information. Contact SOAR Coordinator, Ben Neidich, at bneidich@lfschools.net to discuss the possibilities, or if you have any questions.

We will be available to answer questions about resources to support your child will also explain the process if your child may need additional assistance through a 504 Plan or an Individualized Education Plan.

8th Grade Families!
The Class of 2023 is starting to gear up for the end of the year, and that means we’d like to start collecting photos of your grad that will be included in a class photo montage.
We would like you to send us:
- a photo of your child when they were little (baby, toddler, etc just no naked baby photos please!) and,
- a more recent one of them as an 8th grader.
Ideally these would be photos with your child but we’ll do our best to crop out other family members. A photo of a hard copy photo is ok too!
Please send them to our Class of 2023 mailbox at deerpathapt5678@gmail.com. Any questions? Ask monica.yaun@gmail.com
