WHAT ARE WE LEARNING ABOUT THIS WEEK??
SCIENCE: Finishing: How can we teach students about the Earth’s features and resources? Students will show their learning this week by creating a project to share with future Earth Experts.
Starting: Over the next few weeks, students will be working to answer the question: Does weather really impact choices people make?
Throughout this unit, students will show their learning by:
· measuring and recording detailed observations of the weather
· describing and comparing types of weather
· creating a model of the water cycle
· communicating information about the weather and seasons
We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. You can support your child’s learning by talking with your child about this unit and encouraging her/him to ask questions and think hard.
We are looking forward to our second graders embarking on their journey of learning!
LANGUAGE ARTS/SOCIAL STUDIES: Review Week. Reviewing concepts from the past 5 weeks.
